Friends, I know we’re all tapped out…mentally, physically, emotionally, and financially. Trust me I get you. We all are. I also know the requests don’t stop. It’s hard to understand why donations are needed for equipment and food for the IDF. I get it, trust me. For equipment I have no answer. It’s insane & unbelievable. I will address the food issue.

The IDF provides food. No soldier will go hungry. The food will provide calories, energy, and enough for the soldiers to do what they need to do. HOWEVER, and there’s a big however, the food the army provides isn’t exactly tasty. At the big bases there’s hot food but it’s institutional and we all know how that is. In the smaller outposts the food is canned. On Tuesday I was at one such outpost. They showed me what the army provides. Loaves of white bread, cans of tuna, chickpeas, white and black beans. Yes they can survive on that, but a hot home-cooked meal makes all the difference. When the foot soldiers go in to Gaza they will have to survive on that.

Therefore dear friends, I am asking, I am begging, please help me send our soldiers the hug that a hot home cooked meal symbolizes. No amount is too big or too small. Please help us show those soldiers the love they deserve!

Last week, I had the pleasure of wearing two hats - one as an educator and the other as a party planner, to help organize a Bar Mitzvah for 80 underprivileged children with the school I work at. It was truly a rewarding experience to see the children's faces light up with joy and excitement as they celebrated this special occasion together.
