Kyla & Taylor made the voyage all the way from Toronto, Canada to the ever spectacular Ballybeg House to celebrate their wedding! (Along with many family and friends.) 💖

In an intimate ceremony, the beautiful couple exchanged vows and participated in the age old tradition of a hand fasting ritual amongst their nearest and dearest.

A huge thank you to all the staff in Ballybeg House especially Mark & Anthony who ensured the day went flawlessly! Looking forward to working alongside you all in the future. ✨

Wishing both Kyla & Taylor a very happily ever after. It was an honour to be part of your day. 💖

🪢𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐅𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐲 🪢

The Hand fasting ritual is an age-old tradition, dating back to the druids and our pagan origins.
Within the ceremony, individual ribbons or a cord are wrapped around the joined hands of the lovers. With each wrap of the cord, the love, commitment and hope for your future is sealed. The hand fasting ceremony can be accompanied by a poem, some background music and to add further intimacy to the ritual, you can invite family members or friends to witness the ceremony and be the people to drape the ribbons over your hands.

Fun fact: this is where we get the term “tying the knot”!

The possibilities are endless when it comes to your ceremony as it all comes down to the couples personal preferences. As I always say, it’s YOUR day, we will make it perfect for ✨you✨.

⌛️💗 𝒮𝒶𝓃𝒹 𝒞𝑒𝓇𝑒𝓂𝑜𝓃𝓎 💗⌛️

The sand ceremony is a beautiful tradition to show the unity of the entire family on your wedding day. Families come in all forms and sizes and this is the perfect way to immortalise the unwavering love and bond between you all. It’s also a fantastic way to include the kiddies in all the fun and action!

Each person will choose a colour sand that represents them as an individual. During the ceremony, a vessel containing each colour sand will be poured individually by the family members into a larger container. When all of the different colour sands are combined, something wonderful and colourful is created.

🕯 𝒰𝓃𝒾𝓉𝓎 𝒞𝒶𝓃𝒹𝓁𝑒𝓈 🕯

The lighting of Unity Candles in a wedding ceremony symbolises the merging of two lives and two souls.

Before the couple exchange vows and rings, pledging their commitment to one another, the two outer individual candles are lit by each person. The two outer candles symbolise the individual self, each person a bright and shining light as one.
Once the couple have exchange their vows and rings, the middle candle is lit from the individual candles to represent the union of these two bright souls coming together as one in love.

It’s a beautiful and traditional way of expressing the promise of commitment and hope for the future.

Wedding rings have been a physical symbol of a betrothal for centuries dating back to ancient Rome and Greece.
To this day, the significance of wedding bands are much the same all around the world.
Couples exchange rings on their wedding day to outwardly express their love, devotion and commitment to one another accompanied by their vows. The rings announce to the world that one has found in another their soul mate. That they are entwined by their past, present and future together.

Hello everyone! 💜
I thought it was time for a well over due introduction!

My name is Brenda and I’m an independent event celebrant based in Co. Wicklow. I’m happily married to my husband Luke and mother to a beautiful, wonderful little boy named Luan. And of course, a dog mom to the best boy Bear. I’m a very spiritual woman and proudly refer to myself as a witch. I’m also currently obsessed with Taylor Swift.

I first began my journey as a celebrant back in 2020 and have had the honour of joining many couples for their wedding day. This year, I took a leap of faith and decided to take my journey into my own hands and “The Wedding Witch” was born.

I take pride in working alongside couples and families to create ceremonies that truly capture their essence and uniqueness. Whatever your vision is for your special day, it is my pleasure and privilege to put pen to paper and bring it to life.

A beautiful chapter is about to begin for you! Planning your special day is a wonderful whirlwind that seems to fly by.
