WEX ROX

WEX ROX THE IDEA BEHIND WEX ROX IS VERY SIMPLE, IT IS TO GIVE BANDS A PLACE TO PLAY. The idea behind WEX ROX is very simple, it is to give bands a place to play.

It is hard for a band starting out to get their first few gigs, more so when they are playing their own material, and even more so when they are in the Rock and Metal vein. Singer/Songwriters and the lighter side of music are catered for with open mic sessions and cafe type environments hosting music but for those of us who like to play loud, at times up to 11, there are not a lot of venues that w

ill allow a new band or artist playing their own material, to rattle the windows. Gear can also be an issue, a P.A costs money, as do good mics and all the other gear needed to put on a gig. WEX ROX provides the venue and the gear for bands to play, a place to meet other musicians and to make contacts, to get names and numbers of people and to get a little help in getting on to the next rung of the ladder and to have a bit of fun and to enjoy it because after all, thats the whole point of making music. It is primarily aimed at bands or artists from the rock side of music but not strictly so. It is not a money making venture, no money is involved, the people behind it simply want somewhere to play themselves and rather than complain about lack of opportunity, they decided to get off their collective asses and make something happen

Id be really grateful to everyone on here if you could spare a second to vote for the brilliant 12 Gauge Outrage who are among the last 4 finalists in with a chance to support The Raven Age who are playing at the end of the month in the Academy in Dublin. Evening All,

First, apologies for the lack of posts and gigs recently.

A bit of back history......

There are two of us behind this endeavour.
One of us, Pete, provides the P.A., does sound on the night, and is the contact man for bands. He had a temporary change in his personal circumstances, which has turned out to be permanent. Meaning he can't be involved anymore. So until we find someone to fill his shoes, we can't continue.

So, if you, or someone you know would be interested in coming on board, and doing what he did, please get in touch.
Without someone to provide the P.A., and run the desk, we can't continue.
Fingers crossed, there is someone out there who will fill in!

Unfortunately we have had to cancel tonight's Wex Rox gig in Mooneys so apologies to anyone planning on coming out tonight. At the moment we are putting things on hold but we are planning on coming back with a bang in the near future so stay tuned

Unfortunately due to reasons beyond our control, we have had to cancel tonights WEX ROX gig. We are very sorry for the inconvenience, especially as we had 3 brilliant bands we were really looking forward to seeing. Needless to say we will be trying to get them back down at a later stage.
