I share the name Mark McCabe with the Maniac 2000 DJ, but as I’m slightly older than him I will always say he copied my name to gain success LOL. I’m not a music maestro but after 16 years in the wedding business I do consider myself a maestro in “ A Wedding Day ”

My journey into wedding video began in 2005. I was at my sister in laws wedding and I just brought my little handy cam to capture some

behind-the-scenes family footage. I excitedly created a little personal video for them and they loved it. This got me thinking. Why was the professional videographer not capturing the family and friends moments and just focusing the whole video around the Bride & Groom? Of course, the couple are the main characters in this story, but there is so much more to tell and see on a wedding day. My great woman is my amazing Wife Darina. Working behind the scenes she keeps it all ticking over in our business and our home life. Without her, I most definitely wouldn’t be where I am today. To future proof our business, We have a 15-year-old son who is a true techy, I have no doubt that his input into our business will educate me and keep it current. As a small family of three, we are very tight & there is no better feeling after a long day's shoot to be always greeted at home with warm hugs. It's just piped at the post by the feeling I get when a Bride emails me to tell me she LOVED her wedding film. I get a great personal buzz from that!

The well-wishes in our last post have honestly blown us away. 🩷

Seeing all the names of the lovely people we have worked with over the years, honestly felt a bit emotional. It almost felt like we needed a reunion 😄

But it’s not goodbye, it’s the start of something new, something amazing. At least for the girls anyway!

It’s here - a space just for us.

A space for all my fellow female suppliers in this industry who are doing it alone and could do with a corner of the internet where someone actually gets it.

It's called She Books Weddings, and we are starting with a brand new Facebook Group.

A group for real conversations, practical advice, and a community of us women who are all trying to build something we want to be proud of.

I'd love to see all your lovely familiar faces in there.

We have had a great run in the wedding world over the last 20 years, and it’s time to pass it on to the next generation.

But we are not bringing everything with us.

We are going to share with you everything that we have learned over the past 2 decades that helped us create a wedding business that we are very proud of.

Admittedly, it took a lot of years and sleepless nights to bring MDM wedding films to the place it is today.

We worked, studied, and researched until we had systems in place to make it run like a well-oiled machine.

But what got us there is that we backed ourselves every single time.

We stuck with our morals and principles, we priced fairly, and we produced an amazing personal wedding love story on film for every couple that we worked with.

We’ve met some wonderful wedding suppliers over the years, bonding over how hard it is to create a consistent income within the wedding industry.

We made it work beautifully, and now we want to share it all with you.

So, along with our Son, our software developer, we are working on creating a suite of tools that will allow you to use all the systems we developed to run a smooth, profitable wedding business, and so much more...

Our new venture will be under the name “Hello Wedding Pro”

Darina will be taking this a step further by creating a community for all women wedding business owners, providing a space to learn and grow their wedding business. It will all kick off soon in her Facebook Group “She Books Weddings”, we will keep you posted.

So, as we say goodbye to our Brides & Grooms, we look forward to giving you the tools and guidance to grow your wedding business, generate the income you want, and make some new friends along the way.

Meet The McCabes

Starting our wedding business in 2005 was the second best decision we made as a couple.

We get to meet beautiful couples at the start of their life long journey, and get to tell their love story ♥️

On a wedding day, everyone is excited and happy.
Which makes it a great environment to work in every weekend.

We both come from close families, that are expanding every year and we love being surrounded by the young spirit of the children in our families.

We are both lucky to have both our parents still with us.

When we go out to film a wedding day, we bring these values with us.

We understand the importance of the children, the parents, the Grandparents to each couple on the day.

And of course close friends that are like your other family!

These are always the memories that we strive to capture.
Making all our wedding videos very personal to each couple.

On a wedding day we are not there to intrude, and we respect that some moments on your wedding day are extremely special and sometimes emotional.

For this reason our filming style has always been to capture those moments from a distance, and we never ask the couple to do staged shots.

We want you to have nervous excitement to be getting married, and not be in any way nervous about the presence of a camera.

We want you to have the best day of your life!

And when it’s all over, we will give you a life long memory on film that you can treasure forever!
