MARATHON WINNERS
Huge congratulations to Roma Puisiene (LTU), the women’s champion, whose consistency and relentless strength shone through on every continent. And a massive salute to Paul Box (USA), the men’s champion, who delivered an exceptional performance across such a challenging schedule. Both athletes demonstrated the very best of global adventure running.
WORLD RECORDS
Bravo to Christian Brown Johnson (USA) who achieved two extraordinary 50km world records:
• The shortest cumulative time to run 50km on all seven continents — 6 days, 10 hours, 24 minutes
• The fastest average time for 50km across all seven continents in a single week, at 4:29:22 hrs.
At 82 years and 359 days, Dan Little (USA) became the oldest person to complete a half marathon on all seven continents within seven days — and he also finished full marathons on six of those continents. Simply amazing!
A Race of Champions
Every participant pushed themselves to extraordinary limits in their quest to complete seven marathons on seven continents in just one week, or 168 hours. They battled extreme temperature swings from –30°C (–22°F) to +35°C (+95°F), endured profound sleep deprivation and running fatigue, and many raised significant funds for charitable causes in the process. Congratulations all!
