Another great weekend was had at the Athlone River Festival and we want to give our heartfelt thanks to the festival organisation team for having us back and looking after the Vikings so well, the LakesVikings team who worked very hard to entertain Athlone supported by our wonderful Viking friends of Golden Ravens, Clann Cuan and all other Vikings who came from near and far to support us.

We had a great weekend with you all and thank you very much for all the support and joining in the fun & games.

Our smallest visitors had a great time again doing the treasure trail hunt at this years Boyne Valley Viking Experience.
As last year we are rewarding 2 of our treasure hunters with a prize!
The lucky winners which were drawn this year are Kimberly (Kimmy) McManus and Oisin Graham-Gaffney.

Kimmy came to see us on sat at Cavan County Museum and collected her prize. We are sure she will be joining us as a new Viking recruit soon! 😀

Celebrating summer solstice weekend with what we love doing most- bringing history to life.
This weekend we were supporting the Cavan County Museum on their 30th anniversary. Congratulations from all of us and to everyone in the area, go and check out this little gem of museum with some wonderful exhibits.

Living history is our passion and the reason we started the Boyne Valley Viking Experience 5 years ago.
It has grown over the years to be Irelands largest authentic Viking festival but as everything started with an idea and a bunch of enthusiastic people who love what they do. This is still our drive to do what we do and
you also find us at smaller events where we love bringing history to life.
This weekend some of our Vikings support the Cavan County museum at the open day to celebrate their 30th anniversary.
