Normally by time the bride arrives I’ve exited stage left and either grabbing a coffee or working on reception flowers.
Not last Saturday though, this gorgeous soul getting married used to be my Saturday girl, and way back when she was a teenager I told her if she got married I would do her wedding flowers. It was such an honour to do them for her, I was totally fine until she forgot the car 😭😭😭😭

We’re regularly asked to decorate the doorway to The Boathouse Sheen Falls Lodge and we always try and achieve the same effect- we want it to look like it’s actually growing there, totally natural. We use chicken wire and reusable water tubes, so sustainable materials.
There is actually a much put upon climbing rose underneath all that, the poor thing is probably sick of us now….

I’ve had this gallery for a few days now and been frozen by indecision, so many gorgeous images by Lou Robertson I can’t choose what to leave out …
I absolutely adore this style of bouquet, I call it a Royal. Small, delicate blooms pulled together in an understated and elegant bouquet. Astilbe, lily of the valley, sweet pea, marguerites, acidenthera. Needless to say, it smelt delicious too. Absolutely perfect for this beautiful bride 🥰

I’m obsessed with these images by 𝐴𝑛𝑛𝑎 𝐺 🎞 so had to post one more time….
The bridesmaids mini bouquets were co-ordinated with their dress colour - yellow spray rose, blue delphinium, pink nerine and smoky purple lisianthus. These flowers were then also incorporated in the bride’s bouquet. I adore these colours, to me this is early summer encapsulated and I’m thrilled that I got to use a good few flowers from the Secret Garden in the bouquet including scented garden roses, dahlia, astilbe, astrantia and scabious.

I cannot stress this enough, colourful flowers = JOY
I totally believe people react differently to colourful flowers, and I know when we get to work with colour we’re always happier!
These pics are from back on a sunny day in April at Sheen Falls Lodge, I can’t believe I was giving out about the heat affecting the flowers, if only I knew what was ahead of me 😂

Had a ball last week working alongside Fiona from .ie on this dreamy wedding. This was just one element of the prep, with me and spending all day up ladders barking at for more foliage!
It was like a workout, but so worth it. Can’t wait for you to see the final reveal with tables dressed….
