I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support in 2024.
For your purchases, likes, shares, and recommendations, thank you.
What a year it’s been—full of amazing memories, challenges, growth, and beautiful moments shared with all of you.
January and February were quieter months as I focused on recovering from pneumonia, and planning for the season ahead.
In March, the farm was coming to life—and so was I. I attended a wedding flower workshop to practice the art of creating stunning bridal bouquets. The ranunculus, tulips, anemones, and other hardy annuals I’d planted in September were beginning to bloom.
By April, the farm was in full swing. I filled carloads of buckets with fresh flowers for florists, and the flower season kicked off for my local customers with bright, beautiful bouquets. I also attended a workshop on no-dig farming, a technique I’m using on my farm to nurture the soil and grow sustainably. April also marked another milestone: my first wedding of the year, featuring homegrown blooms that made the day even more special.
May brought an exciting opportunity to connect with flower lovers at Bord Bia Bloom, where The Flower Farmers of Ireland had a stall. I brought as many bouquets as I could, sharing the joy of fresh, local flowers with visitors. I also introduced my handmade 100% plant-based essential oil candles, a labor of love that I was thrilled to share with the public for the first time.
By summer, I was truly in the thick of it. The fields were buzzing with activity as I planted seedlings that would flower by September, sowed biennials for 2025, and continued sowing seeds for autumn harvest. Weddings kept me busy, each one a whirlwind of beautiful arrangements and joyful celebrations. And my flowers appeared on RTE!
September was packed full with making bouquets and a couple of fabulous weddings. I had hundreds of dahlia plants to be picked (I think I may have overshot when I planted these...but they are my favourite).
In October/November things slowed down on the farm with regards to picking. I was sowing hardy seeds like a mad woman, preparing for 2025 and planting up the polytunnel.
December, was all about making candles, wreaths and table arrangements.
I wish you the happiest of New Year's! 🎉
