We are very sad to hear of Gearóid's passing. He was a great presence in the tent at Taste of Monaghan. He is a culinary star who will be greatly missed. Our condolences to his family.

It is with the greatest sadness that we share that Gearóid, known lovingly to us all as Gerry passed away peacefully today.

With the strength of Tara by his side, he faced the past number of years with remarkable courage, and dignity.

His legacy will live on through his beautiful children, Orán, Lorcan, Emma, and Eoin.

Gerry’s smile and spirit never wavered, and his wit and humour were truly unmatched. His passion for everything he did touched and inspired everyone around him.

Even when faced with the most difficult diagnosis, he continued to show up for others with generosity and kindness.

There will never be anyone quite like him, but his memory will live on in all of us and the happy moments made in The Olde Post Inn in the years to come will be eternally in his memory.

Our prayers are with Tara, Orán, Lorcan, Emma & Eoin, Maura and all the family through this difficult time.
