USEFUL INFORMATION ๐Ÿ™Œ

Caring for fresh flowers in warm weather requires a few extra steps to keep them vibrant and long-lasting. Here's a simple guide to help you:

๐ŸŒธ 1. Cut Stems Immediately

Trim 1โ€“2 inches off the stems at a 45-degree angle as soon as you get them.

Use clean, sharp scissors or a knife to avoid crushing the stems.

Re-trim every couple of days.

๐Ÿ’ง 2. Use Clean, Cool Water

Fill a clean vase with cool water, not warm or hot.

Change the water daily or at least every other day.

๐Ÿงช 3. Add a Flower Food Mix

If you donโ€™t have commercial flower food, you can DIY:

1 teaspoon sugar (feeds the flowers)

2 teaspoons lemon or lime juice (lowers pH)

A few drops of bleach (prevents bacterial growth)
Mix into 1l of water.

๐ŸŒž 4. Keep Flowers Cool

Place them in a shady, cool spot, away from direct sunlight, heating vents, or electronics.

Avoid warm windowsills or cars.

๐ŸŒฌ๏ธ 5. Avoid Drafts and Heat Sources

Fans, open windows, and air conditioners can dehydrate flowers.

Keep them away from fruit (especially bananas and apples), which release ethylene gas and speed up wilting.

๐Ÿ‚ 6. Remove Dying Flowers and Leaves

Regularly pluck off wilted petals or yellowing leaves.

Leaves submerged in water should be removed immediately, as they promote bacterial growth.

๐Ÿ’โ€โ™€๏ธ. Bonus tip for Hydrangeas.

If your hydrangeas start to look wilted or feel soft to touch.

Boil a kettle with water, place hot water in heat resistant dish (mug, bowl).

Cut about 1" of the stem and slit in the middle using sharp scissors.

Place your hydrangea in the hot water and leave it in for at least 6-8hrs.

Once your hydrangea has revived, do a fresh cut and slit on the stem and place it in clean water.
