There’s a certain kind of stay that doesn’t need much planning.

No packed itinerary. No big occasion. No particular reason.

Just a change of scenery, somewhere beautiful to wake up, a little exploring, good food, and time with the people you enjoy.

That’s one of the things we love about The Old Rectory. You can make it a big weekend, or you can make it wonderfully simple.

Looking for somewhere a little different to explore during your stay at The Old Rectory?

Just a short drive away, you’ll find the Arigna Mining Experience, where you can step into the fascinating history of coal mining in the area.

Explore the mining exhibition, with its collection of historic photographs, documents and mining equipment, or take the underground experience tour and discover what life was really like for the miners who worked beneath the mountains.

It’s just one of the many interesting places to discover while exploring this beautiful part of Ireland.
