Fanad Lighthouse. 60mph winds. No power. No hot water.

Dermot and Paige didn’t complain once.

Hair being blown sideways. Veil doing its own thing.

Doors rattling. The lighthouse practically humming with the storm.

At one point someone mentioned the power might not come back on.

They just laughed.

And that’s what I’ll remember most.

Not the wind.
Not the logistics.
Not the lack of hot water.

But the way they handled it.

Weddings don’t go “perfectly”. They rarely do. There’s always something - weather, timing, nerves, forgotten cufflinks.

The couples who enjoy the day the most are the ones who decide early: whatever happens, happens.

Fanad Lighthouse in a storm isn’t calm, polished, or predictable.

It’s wild. Dramatic. Alive.

And honestly? It suited them perfectly.
