Now that the harvesting is in full swing and many scarecrows find themselves at a loose end, we have come up with an idea to give them one last outing for the year!
Just for the fun of it, create a scarecrow in the likeness of any of your favourite characters to depict life in the Village. We've already made a start with our Kirwan's Garage entry to give you the idea. Have fun with it and we hope to see the scarecrows arriving to take up their positions by 31st August. Judging of the scarecrows will take place on September 7th ,with a mystery prize for the overall winner.
Entry is Free! Get Creating!!🤩

Good News recently for Duncormick Area Action group and the people of Duncormick.
Through the Town and Village Renewal Scheme and with the help from Yvonne Byrne, they have secured €80 k to assist in the purchase of the old school.
Pictured below are some of the Duncormick Area Action Group and Duncormick Harvest Festival group outside the 1930 building.
On that occasion, Duncormick Harvest Festival committee handed over €20k to Duncormick Area Action to assist in the next leg of the redesigning and repurposing of the build. This money was raised at last year's festival.
At This year's Festival on September 7th we hope to attract people back into the village for the day to raise the much needed funds for this ambitious community project that will no doubt benefit us all in the community for generations to come.
Entry is free on the day and we ask visitors to support our Village Stalls, Raffle, Village farm, Childrens attractions and Auction and to donate on the day. For those who cannot attend and would like to support us we have a Gofundme page.
The qr below will bring you directly to the go fund me page.

A highly regarded neighbour and friend to the festival, Nuala Williamson sadly passed a few days ago. To George, Linda, Evelyn, David and Ken we express our deepest sympathy and great gratitude to Nuala for many acts of kindness to us all in the community here of Duncormick. We will remember Nuala fondly serving the tea to the harvest workers up at a warm and sunny field in Lough dressed for the occasion with her trusted apron of course.
In the photo below she carriers a corn dolly crafted by her own hands. Thank you for the wonderful talents you shared with us all.
Rest gently dear Nuala.
