"Unflinching, sharp, and in your face"- ★ ★ ★ ★ The Irish Times

Mallika Taneja's 𝗕𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗳𝘂𝗹 has opened in Project as part of the Dublin Theatre Festival to critical acclaim, with few tickets remaining for the rest of its run. Grab them now via the link: https://projectartscentre.ie/events/be-careful/

Rooted in a widespread anger about the everyday violence against women, 𝗕𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗳𝘂𝗹 confronts the unfortunate conflation between the manner in which women dress and the atrocities committed against them.

Thirteen years since its first performances, Mallika strips down a culture hiding behind its ignorant, prudish mores and exposes the contradictions of India’s stagnated social progress.

This performance is in English.
Running until Oct 11 | €25/23

𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝘄𝗼 𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆! After its premiere at , Where We Bury The Bones comes to Project on 15 & 16 October. Presented by multi-award-winning duo John McIlduff and Brian Irvine ().

The production unearths itself once again, this time in the Big Blue Building, with an 8-piece orchestra and explosive mix of original live music, film, contemporary dance and opera. Beginning with the discovery of a single bone, unearthed during archaeological excavations in Kilkenny’s Abbey Quarter, a sweeping reflection on civilisation grows: its rituals, its industries, its skateboarders – and the traces we leave behind.

Where We Bury the Bones offers a startling meditation on who we are, how we live, and our relationship with the land beneath our feet.

Here for two performances only on 7 & 8 October, Gosia Wdowik's DEEPER will have its Irish premiere here at Project as part of the Dublin Theatre Festival 2025.

Based on personal experience and interviews with teenagers in Warsaw, DEEPER critically examines the ongoing production and reproduction of images depicting female bodies in the context of sexuality and victimisation.

What impact do these images have on the lives of young people and what tactics do they develop to navigate the world under these impressions?

In DEEPER, she confronts fears and desires that have been shaped through a strong identification with media images, and she brings them into conversation with testimonies of a young generation that is coming of age on the internet. With the help of professional actresses and local teenagers, Wdowik embarks on a journey into the dark imagination that haunts girls and women on their path to sexual self-determination.

We were delighted to welcome the Young Interpreters from Paradise Place Educate Together National School into Project this week, who play a key role in Jenny Brady’s film 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗵/ 𝗔𝗻 𝗕𝗼𝘁𝗵 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗲.

This vibrant school community represents an incredible 35 different languages. Through the Young Interpreters programme, students who share the same home language are paired together, helping newcomers and their families navigate the early days and months of school life in a new language and environment.

What a privilege it was to invite the pupils alongside Jenny to a screening of the film here in Project, which focuses on the lived experiences of these young interpreters, who often have to interpret for children and adults much older than themselves.

Catch one of the last screenings of 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗵/ 𝗔𝗻 𝗕𝗼𝘁𝗵 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗲 today before it closes here at Project. Last screenings: 4.20pm & 5pm (this screening is audio described)

Closing this Saturday! Jenny Brady's 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗵 / 𝗔𝗻 𝗕𝗼𝘁𝗵 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗲 will wrap up this weekend after a highly successful run here at Project.

From its recognition in The Irish Times back when we opened in July, to recently being selected as one of the Best Art Shows to see in Ireland and the UK by Freize Magazine's New Writers, Jenny's film is a striking addition to our Visual Arts archive, casting a cinematic gaze on the figure of the interpreter.

Catch one of the final screenings in our gallery running until 4 Oct, first screening 11am, last screening 5pm (two, alternating versions: one with subtitles and the other with audio description). Run time: 32 minutes.

Free to attend, as always!

𝙊𝙥𝙚𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙒𝙚𝙙𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙙𝙖𝙮! ⚡ Konstantin, by Lauren Jones, is coming to Project this week as part of Dublin Theatre Festival with Once Off Productions. Grab the last of these tickets via the link: https://bit.ly/4pMNLqG

A young man has shot himself. He lies in a coma. Around him, his family and friends gather - grieving, confessing, clashing.

Inspired by Chekhov's The Seagull, Konstantin images what happens after the final act - a haunting, atmospheric journey through legacy, grief, and the myths we build around artists.

Presenting SIX MEN, a brand new film work by Cecily Brennan, running in The Cube from 10 - 22 November.

The film SIX MEN describes the lives of six fictional men. Sad Man, The Battler, The Voice Hearer, The Roller, Circadian Man and Rage, who are suffering from, or have suffered from, psychotic breakdown.

What connects these six men but also keeps them utterly apart is their psychosis. In this work, Cecily Brennan tries to limit concerns to a specific aspect of this complex subject – an imagining of what it means to be mad, in particular to be psychotic.

Catch a screening, free of charge with no booking required, running in The Cube from 11am, on the hour and half hour, Mon - Sat. First screening 11am, last screening 7.30 pm.
