𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀! Dublin's oldest experimental theatre company Pan Pan are in the house this week with Melbourne-based collective APHIDS with their newest work YFEL (★★★★ Irish Times).

Join us today as APHIDS performer Marcus McKenzie takes over our instagram and gives us some behind the scenes insight into the YFEL School of Performing Arts for the artistically deranged.

APHIDS makes experimental work across art forms and contexts: in public space, festivals, digital platforms, across visual and performing arts, major institutions and beyond. Their mission is to collaborate with people inside and outside of the arts to bring attention to social, political and cultural concerns, as well as interrogate power structures and create radical new ways of working together.

YFEL runs until Sat 13 Dec in the Space Upstairs. You can grab the remaining tickets now via the link: https://projectartscentre.ie/events/yfel/

Pan Pan is core funded by the Arts Council and Dublin City Council. APHIDS is supported by Creative Victoria.

Say hello to 𝗦𝗰𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵: 𝗔 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸 by Kian Benson Bailes with designer Alex Synge (). The perfect stocking filler, tool to unwind, or something for yourself to channel out the noise over the Xmas hols. Join us in marking the end of our 2025 artistic programme with this special limited edition publication. Available for €8 at our box office or online, with collection and delivery options available.

The book is comprised of 10 illustrations inspired by Irish folklore, q***r autobiography, references to sign language, and recurring motifs and patterns designed with both neurodivergent and neurotypical audiences in mind.

Kian is a longstanding friend and collaborator of Project, with his sculptural exhibition 𝘊𝘶𝘭𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘦 𝘣𝘰𝘺, 𝘐 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 / 𝘎𝘳á 𝘮𝘰 𝘤𝘩𝘳𝘰í 𝘵𝘩ú, 𝘮𝘰 𝘤𝘩á𝘣ó𝘪𝘨í𝘯 𝘧é𝘪𝘯 opening at Project in 2023 and later touring nationally in 2024. From the northwest of Ireland and currently based in Dublin, his multifaceted practice explores rural Ireland, visual language, and identity.

Combining bespoke commissions and archival drawings, 𝗦𝗰𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵: 𝗔 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸 allows our audiences at Project to engage with our artists and the work that we present in our programme in a different way. Whether to be used as an access resource and support for neurodivergent audiences and artists, or as a last minute stocking filler, gift a piece of art by a local Irish artist this festive season.

Europe Beyond Access have launched their new report 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲, which examines the current state of accessibility in higher arts education across Creative Europe countries and the UK.

The report sheds light on widespread barriers to access and participation, while also identifying examples of promising practice. It calls for a shift from reliance on individual goodwill to the development of structural and institutional change.

While some institutions are taking steps to improve accessibility through flexible entry requirements, dedicated staff and partnerships with specialised organisations, the report concludes that systemic change — not ad-hoc adaptations — is needed.

Accessibility must be recognised as a fundamental part of artistic diversity, not an exception.

Europe Beyond Access is the biggest trans-national project in the world supporting Disabled and Deaf artists to break the glass ceilings of contemporary dance and theatre. The project started in 2018, and in 2024 the second generation has been co-funded once again by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union and will run for another 4 years, to 2027.

𝗩𝗮𝗴𝘂𝗲 𝗦𝘆𝗺𝗽𝘁𝗼𝗺 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗰 𝗿𝘂𝗻𝘀 𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗹 𝟭𝟳 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆! (★★★★ Irish Times).

Drop in to the gallery 11am-6pm (closed Sundays) to catch Ciarán Ó Dochartaigh's latest sculptural and glass work exhibition before it closes in early 2026! As always, this exhibition is a free event, no booking required.

Ciarán's new work considers Ireland’s legacies of colonialism, partition, and state violence, and their relationship to intergenerational trauma and inherited chronic illness.

The exhibition’s title is taken from the real-life National Health Service (NHS) clinic that attempts to identify the origins or causes of a range of indefinite indicators of disease, including weight loss, fatigue, brain fog and night sweats.

Vague Symptom Clinic by Ciarán Ó Dochartaigh was commissioned by Project Arts Centre and part-funded by the Department of Culture, Communications and Sport under the % for Arts Scheme.

Supported by the Arts Council/ an Chomhairle Ealaíon, with the support of Derry City & Strabane District Council's (DCSDC) Individual Artist & Cultural Practitioner Award (IACP) and Fire Station Artists’ Studios.

Project Arts Centre is delighted to present 𝗔𝗻 𝗨𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘆 by artist and writer Bridget O’Gorman to mark International Day of Persons with Disabilities on the 3rd of December.

This piece includes an excerpt of text from a work in progress piece as part of 'Deep Time', a nonconforming, collective research project. The work was commissioned by EVA International as part of the 41st EVA International Platform Commissions, selected by Iarlaith Ní Fheorais and Roy Claire Potter. It is supported by the Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon and the creative support initiative field:arts, and was produced by Iarlaith Ní Fheorais and Hannah Wallis.

'Deep Time' stems from ongoing research around sustaining a practice in a disabled body. Applied slowness alongside an overt acknowledgement of support and interdependency forms an integral part of this inquiry. The 'Deep Time' publication will be launched at PAC in Spring 2025.

A number of different access supports will be available to support audiences with disabilities to engage with this work. Such supports include NaviLens codes, large print documents, braille documents and ISL translations. All physical resources will be available to collect at Box Office, with the NaviLens code accessible via the NaviLens app. The ISL translation can be found on our website.

Access some of these resources and find out more about the work via the link: https://projectartscentre.ie/news/project-arts-centre-international-day-of-persons-with-disabilities-2025/
