While studying millinery at the Grafton Academy, Tahnee worked in Dublin’s elite bridal hub, Marian Gale and noticed a huge need for more elegant and fashion-forward headpieces. “Back then brides had a choice between chunky veils and flowery hairbands and I knew there was an appetite for accessories that better represented the brides individual style and taste,” says Tahnee. Her prediction was spot on, and her foresight, design credentials and exquisite handmade designs, has ensured she has remained as Ireland’s “go-to” and most prolific headpiece designer for brides, bridal parties, fashion editors, stylists, celebrities and the race goer lady, whom all have her on speed dial. Tahnee opened her private design studios in Blackrock, Co Dublin in 2002, and here she works closely with all her clients, creating mood boards, design concepts and finally the one-of-a kind finished piece, on a one-on-one basis. Too many women overdo it on the outfits or the headpieces. Too many standout pieces cancel out the charm of everything, so I love helping clients perfect their overall look, not just the accessories. Even after all these years, I still get the biggest thrill seeing a bride on her Wedding Day wearing one of my pieces.”
