Something I've been building quietly for a while is now officially out in the world.
For 19 years I've been the person behind the scenes — placing speakers at premium events across Europe, the US, and the Nordics. Watching what works. Watching what doesn't. Watching talented people stay stuck because they didn't know how to present themselves credibly or couldn't get out of their own way.
So I decided to do something about it.

Something I've noticed in the last year.

Speakers are getting better. The standard of delivery, storytelling, stage presence....it's genuinely improving.

And yet a lot of them still aren't getting booked.

Not because they aren't good enough. But because the industry has changed, and nobody has told them.

Event bookers are going direct. Mid-tier agencies are under real pressure.

The speakers who are thriving right now aren't necessarily the most talented - they're the ones who understand how the game works and have set themselves up accordingly.

That's the gap I keep seeing. And it's the gap I've decided to do something about.

Most organisations plan for the future they expect.

Nassim Taleb has spent his career arguing that the future you expect is almost never the one that arrives.

His concept of antifragility - things that don't just withstand shocks but actually get stronger because of them - is one of the most useful frameworks I've seen applied in a leadership context.

The question it forces: are you building an organisation that survives disruption, or one that needs disruption in order to evolve?

Those are very different organisations.

And the gap between them is where most strategy conversations should start.

Tomorrow, Sunday the 3rd I'll be running my 17th half marathon.

Dublin City Half Marathon. 21.1km through the heart of the city - starting on O'Connell Street, across the north-side, and back into the city centre.

The route runs through Raheny, which means something a little extra for me. I'm a member of Raheny Shamrocks - one of Dublin's most iconic running clubs — and there's nothing quite like running through your own patch with your community cheering you on.

17 of these and the nerves still show up tonight....

I think that's the point though. If it felt easy, it wouldn't mean as much.
