🍀 GRÁ FOR GAZA. A Celebration of Burlesque, Cabaret and Drag in Aid of Palestine at The Sugar Club on Wednesday 26th November 2025.

In the spirit of compassion and solidarity, Grá for Gaza is a very special event showcasing the best in Irish burlesque, cabaret and drag with proceeds in aid of CHILDREN NOT NUMBERS who are on the ground right now, dedicated to helping Gaza’s children.
Hosted by the incomparable PHIL T. GORGEOUS, audiences will be treated to a magical evening in celebration of the power of performance to not just entertain, but move and make a real difference in the world.

Expect a fabulous, eclectic and electric fusion of dance, aerial, acrobatics, song, comedy and everything else in between, as performers from the four corners of Ireland come together, united in their Grá for the children of Palestine.

Its our favourite day of the year and we are delighted to be back in Meeting House Square with . It’s time to don that boater hat and join us for an afternoon of readings and songs from Ulysses as part of the Bloomsday Festival’s flagship event “Readings and Songs” at Meeting House Square in Temple Bar, 3pm – 6pm on 16 June 2024.

A long-standing and treasured tradition, this afternoon of songs, readings and performances from Ulysses in the heart of the city is an essential part of the Bloomsday experience.

This year, we have actor and writer Tara Flynn at the helm in Temple Bar, to introduce a fabulously chaotic cast of noted Irish actors, musicians, pundits and everyone in between, who will read extracts from Ulysses. The readings will bring to life Joyce’s immortal words, from his description of Dublin’s “snotgreen sea”, to Molly Bloom’s famous “yes”.

This year’s esteemed readers are acclaimed actors Nora-Jane Noone, Gerry O’Brien, Eimear Keating, Geraldine McAlinden, Rachel Wren, Margaret McAuliffe, Steve Hartland, and Mary Murray and writers Conner Habib and Dermot Bolger. The event will also feature the celebrated singer-songwriter David Keenan, Song’s of Joyce’s Sinead Murphy, vintage enthusiast Dave Mulcahy and the comedic brilliance of Katherine Lynch and Goblins, Goblins, Goblins.

Musicians’s Bryan Mullen, Brian Gilligan and Camille O’Sullivan will grace the stage, bringing the music that inspired Joyce back to life.The celebrations will culminate with a reading by beloved Irish author Marian Keyes, as she breathes life into Molly Bloom’s legendary “yes.”

This event is kindly supported by Fáilte Ireland, Dublin UNESCO City of Literature and the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media.

*This is an outdoor event (the Meeting House Square Umbrellas are currently undergoing maintenance) so rain or shine please dress for the weather.

We are delighted to be back with yet again. This years host for Bloomsday’s Readings and Songs is the absolutely brilliant

“I’ve read at this Bloomsday event a couple of times, so I was really excited to be asked to host this year’s. It isn’t just a day for Joycean scholars (though it’s clearly a fabulous day for them). It’s a day for all of us to celebrate our literary history, and the richness of our city, country, and the way we tell the stories that make us who we are.”

Tara is an actor and writer in theatre, film, radio and TV. Her one-woman shows Not A Funny Word and Haunted (THISISPOPBABY and the Abbey Theatre) played to acclaim on the Peacock stage. TV includes Stewart Lee’s Comedy Vehicle and Line of Duty. She’s written three books, You’re Grand, Giving Out Yards and Rage-In. A popular MC, Tara co-hosts the comedy problem-solving podcast Now You’re Asking with author Marian Keyes on BBC Radio Four and BBC Sounds. She is currently appearing as Emma Rafferty in RTÉ’s Fair City.

Experience an odyssey through James Joyce’s epic novel.

We are delighted to be back with Bloomsday Festival again, with Readings and Songs this afteroon in Meeting House Square.

It’s time to don that boater hat and join Imelda May and friends, for an afternoon of readings and songs from Ulysses as part of the Bloomsday Festival’s flagship event “Readings and Songs”.

This year, we have actor, playwright and screenwriter Emmet Kirwan at the helm in Temple Bar , to introduce a fabulously chaotic cast of noted Irish actors, musicians, pundits and everyone in between, who will read extracts from Ulysses. The readings will bring to life Joyce's immortal words, from his description of Dublin's "snotgreen sea”, to Molly Bloom's famous “yes”.

Among this year's esteemed readers are acclaimed actors Owen Rowe, Kate Stanley Brennan, , Margaret McAuliffe, Steve Hartland, and Mary Murray. Joining them will be esteemed writers Paul Lynch and Paul Murray, as well as poets Natalya O'Flaherty and Sasha Terrefous. The event will also feature the comedic brilliance of Aoife O'Connor, Colm O'Regan, Katherine Lynch, and Risteard Cooper. The celebrated singer-songwriter Loah and Dublin’s modern-day James Joyce, designer John Shevlin.

A stellar lineup of musicians including Bryan Mullen, Rory Dunne, Suzanne Savage, Morgan Cooke, and Karen Kelly will grace the stage, bringing the music that inspired Joyce back to life.

Culminating with an enthralling reading by the sensational singer Imelda May, as she breathes life into Molly Bloom's legendary "yes."

Join the Fatale Family crew for a FREE family fun day at Temple Bar’s Meeting House Square on 23 October featuring Samhain's flagship event Creatures of Samhain — a retelling of Irish myths and legends for young ears. Seanchaí and colourful characters will bring spine-tingling tales of the Morrigan, Caorthannach (a monstrous dragon monster), The Fairy Queen and the cheeky Puca to the Ark outdoor stage. With stories from children’s writer Dave Rudden - Raconteur, costumes from Claire Garvey, and designs from Kiki Na Art, this free show brings story, dance, puppetry and theatrics together to bring the rich culture of Ireland’s folkloric stories to life.
