Meet Damien Molloy – Our Reservations Manager

A proud Tipperary man through and through, Damien’s journey into the world of hospitality began during Transition Year in secondary school in Birr. A work experience placement at The Stables Restaurant sparked a lifelong passion for the industry, and he continued working there for six years during weekends and holidays 🌱

After completing his degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management in Athlone, Damien ventured abroad—gaining experience in Germany and England before taking his skills stateside. He spent six years at the prestigious 330-room Hyatt Hotel in South Carolina, where he held several senior positions within the Rooms Division, including Hotel Assistant Manager, Executive Housekeeper, and Front of House Manager 🌍

In 2003, Damien returned to Ireland with a wealth of international experience. He went on to work in some of the country’s finest properties, including Inchydoney Island Lodge & Spa, Mullingar Park Hotel, Castle Dargan Hotel, Kilronan Castle Hotel, and Sligo Park Hotel 🏨

For the past seven years, we’ve had the pleasure of working alongside Damien here at the Ice House Hotel. As our Reservations Manager, he helps guests plan their perfect stay with warmth, professionalism, and an exceptional eye for detail. He values the strong team spirit within the hotel and takes pride in working with owners who continue to invest in the property 💼

Damien now lives in beautiful Pontoon with his wife, son, and their dog. Outside of work, he’s passionate about gardening and DIY, enjoys daily walks with the dog, and is a proud, supportive dad—cheering his son on at rugby, Gaelic football, and soccer matches, and applauding him at concerts and shows 🎭

He’s also a regular blood donor—always ready to give back where he can.

A true professional with a generous spirit, Damien is a vital part of what makes the Ice House so special ✨
