The Killester Garden Village 1923-2023.
Centenary Community Day - Killester - Event Information.
Date: Saturday 26th August 2023.
Time: 12-3pm (Community Night that evening in the Killester Club)

The Centenary Community Day will consist of a short ceremony from 12pm with an opening address speaker marking the centenary of the completion of the Killester Garden Village, the largest Irish WW1 ex-servicemen housing estate in Ireland, this will be followed by the official book launch of the Killester Garden Village Book by our VIP attending, both book's researchers Mr Michal Nugent, Mr Nigel Henderson will speak about the book, the research and history of the area and people, the short ceremony will end with a closing address from another speaker. A Q and A with the researchers is possible afterwards.
There will be 400 copies of the Killester Garden Village Book available.
Once this short ceremony concludes there will be live music/entertainment from the Dublin Fire Brigade Pipe Band, Irish Dancers, St Georges Brass Band and a guitar player. There will also be historical displays, local businesses/sports clubs stands, vintage vehicles, ice cream van, food truck, kids games and face painting!

All residents attending are encouraged to bring a table, chairs, food and refreshments for the Garden Party and community celebration on the green! Please share with your neighbours for what will be a special one of kind day for the community of Killester.
There will be official photographers at the event capturing the special day.
Parking for those attending from afar is only available at the Killester Sports and Social Club or the Killester DART station car park on Collins Avenue. There is no parking available at Middle Third green or surrounding areas and An Garda Síochana will be in attendance.
