After a difficult number of weeks chatting with upset and confused couples, I have managed to facilitate all of my brides and grooms who have postponed their wedding day to 2021. Whilst it is difficult to see the positive side during this challenging time, my advice to couples is to focus on their new 2021 wedding date, to mark their original wedding day for 2020 with gestures of love for each other knowing that their day will come and it will be a celebration of immense excitement and joy.

I would like to sincerely thank Castlemartyr Resort and staff for facilitating a re-scheduled ceremony yesterday, which was planned for today in Blackrock Castle. Special mention to Kay who left no stone unturned for us.

Due to flight restrictions, my fabulous couple had to have their planned ceremony yesterday instead of today. This would not have been possible only for my amazing suppliers who rallied around when they received the call from me yesterday and made themselves available at the eleventh hour. With longer daylight hours and the scent of beautiful spring flowers, there is something very uplifting about the arrival of Spring. If you are a couple getting married in Spring, you have the pick of prime-time season blooms so as to easily create a feast for the eyes.

Celebrate the season by creating an explosion of colour throughout your wedding from your invitations and right through to your ceremony door, signage, cake and favours.

Pantone have chosen their colour of the year for 2020 as Classic Blue. Whilst this colour can be quite dark for summer and autumn weddings if used on a large scale, adding a touch of blue tone to your flowers, table ware, wedding favours, cake or decor, can add a sense of sophisticated dept to your more muted colour choices.

During a recent wedding over the festive season, I came across this rarely seen, iconic Irish phonebox in the village of Kilbrittain. It really made me smile and it was magical to see as I cannot remember the last time I saw one.

It was a great honour that I was asked by Lucy O'Donoghue, Exxcel Programme Manager of the Rubicon Centre in C.I.T to join with two amazing entrepreneurs, Katie Mythen, Managing Editor of Yay Cork and Allana Brown, STEM Leadership Development Consultant to speak with ten ladies who are beginning their journeys to self-employment. It is fantastic to see such brave, intelligent and amazing ladies taking their first steps into becoming future successful entrepreneurs. I wish them every success in the world.

Having got married myself in Winter, I do love this time of year for weddings. From festive lighting, sparkles and sequins to crisp mornings and cosy fires, what is not to love about this time of year to celebrate someones special day. It is a busy time for Forevermore Wedding and Event Coordinators but it is made easy because of the fabulous couples I am so grateful to work with.
