I was honoured to be asked to perform a baby naming ceremony over the weekend. I have worked with this lovely family before, and I really appreciate the fact that they remembered me.

In the ceremony, we included candles light by both sets of the guide parents and parents. We also light coloured candles to represent different attributes the parents wished for the children in their lives. The readings were from the amazing Dr Seuss. I was delighted when a robin came in and landed on my altar.
There were other personal parts to the ceremony that made it unique and so personal to the family. I wish them a lifetime of happiness and blessings with their beautiful children.

Congratulations to Pascal and Tessa, I married them at Sheen Falls Hotel in Kenmate recently. The ceremony was held in the boathouse. It is a beautiful, restored old stone building, with a deck over looking the sea.My couple fell I love with Ireland during a holiday and vowed to return and get married here. This is exactly what they did. They had a Celtic ceremony complete with sheep skins, Celtic swords, handfasting, and of course Irish whisky was shared. Lastly, they jumped the broom from their old life into their new one. Their family were laughing and crying. They had never experienced a wedding like this in Germany and enjoyed every moment.
I wish them every joy and happiness in their life together.

A huge congratulations to Dave and Donna, who literally "tied the knot" at a beautiful Celtic wedding in The Talbot Hotel in Ballincollig. They chose to have a Celtic handfasting. Their friends and family placed coloured ribbons over their wrists and, in a beautiful gesture, used a friend's scarf in the ceremony. They finished the ceremony by jumping the broom.
I wish them every joy and happiness in their life together.

Congratulations to Amy and Chloe. I recently married them in the newly decorated Rochestown Park Hotel. They have one of the most poignant love story. I have ever heard
They met as children and used to pretend they were getting married. No more pretending. They were officially married in front of their friends and family in a truly beautiful ceremony. Together, we created a ceremony that reflected both of them.
Ruth, the wedding singer, brought a tear to everyone's eyes with her music. RayTerry photography captured all the special moments.
The couple had celtic elements in their ceremony. They both pledged to protect and provide for each other with a presentation of a sword. They had a handfasting with their mom's and their beautiful daughter. They completed the ceremony by jumping the broom.
I wish them a beautiful life together
So childhood dreams can come true.

I had a brilliant break in New Orleans recently. Every sense is on high alert in this city. The beautiful streets are decorated in the colours of the rainbow and adorned with beautiful flowers, and iron work balconies. The music blaring from every bar. A cacophony of jazz, blues, funk, and everything in between. The smell of gumbo and hot garlic oysters season the air.
I loved the tarot card readers and the old cemeteries. There is a unique honouring of those who have passed in this city. All the tombs are above ground and decorated and adorned uniquely.
I was thrilled to see both a wedding and a funeral during my stay.
As a celebrant, it always fascinates me to see ceremonies in different cultures.
A trip I won't forget anytime soon.

Congratulations to Amanda and Stephen. I recently married them at The Talbot Hotel in Ballincollig. The couple chose to have a celtic handfasting enhancement during their ceremony. During the ceremony, their beautiful son placed a gold ribbon around their hands, which symbolised their wedding rings. Other family members also placed different coloured ribbons around their hands. Each colour was chosen to symbolise an attribute they admire in each other.
Ruth, the wedding singe, was fantastic as always. Bismark photography captured all the special moments.
I wish them every joy and happiness in their life together.

Congratulations to Christoph and Sheila. I recently married them at The Angler's rest in Cork. It was an outdoor ceremony in their beautiful ceremonial area by the river Lee. As the sun shone and the birds sang, they exchanged beautiful personal wedding vows. Christoph presented his bride with a Celtic sword, swearing to always protect her. They included a handfasting with ribbons of the colours of France and Ireland to represent both heritages.
Sheila's daughter wrote and read a poem that brought tears to everyone's eyes.
Sheila's sister brought fun and gaity with an impromptu version of the song "my sister". It was truly a beautiful day, and it was all caught by Jod photography. Vincent and his wedding team were fantastic as always. I wish them a lifetime time of laughter and good wine.

I love all weddings, but I definitely have a grĂ  for the Celtic traditions. Nothing stirs that blood like the pipes, harps, and fiddles to announce the arrival of the wedding party. The colours of the family tartans. The Heather sprigs in lapels and the beautiful wild flowers in bouquets. We have a beautiful heritage, and to be able to help couples to embrace these traditions in a ceremony is an honour. You can encoropate celtic swords to represent protection, a celtic handfasting to represent "tying the knot," have Cladagh wedding rings, or simply encoropate green in your colour scheme to represent new beginnings and harmony.
And last but not least,"jump the broom from your old life into your new one.

Congratulations to Demi and Joe, who were married in the coastal Majestic Hotel in Tramore. The sun was shining, and the light in the ceremony room was beautiful. Laura and her team had the room dressed beautifully. There were some beautiful personal moments to honour those who had passed, but who were there in their hearts.

Demi was stunning with a look created by Perfection by Paula. Anthony Fleming caught the whole ceremony.
I had great help from their daughter Cora, who blessed the rings and helped tie the knot in a celtic handfasting.
They jumped the broom from their old life into their new one.
I wish them every joy and happiness.

Congratulations to Francis and Lucia. I married them recently in The Abbycourt Hotel in The Premier County Tipperary. Lucia arrived in style in a ribbon bedecked blue tractor. You knew straight away. Fun and laughter were the order of the day.
Their little son made the day. He had great fun blowing out the candles on the altar and getting a big cheer each time. There were some very personal and poignant moments in the ceremony, too. They used both their late Dad's ties in the handfasting. It was a beautiful day of love and happiness. I wish them every joy and happiness in their life together
