Venue Coordinator vs Personal Wedding Coordinator — What’s the Difference? And Do You Really Need Both?
Short answer? It depends — on your vision AND your venue.
Some venue coordinators go absolutely above and beyond, but others have a very limited scope. It’s so important to have a clear conversation with your venue about what they do and don’t handle on the day.
A personal (or “day-of”) coordinator can be a huge help — especially if:
✨ Your wedding involves lots of moving parts/logistics
✨ You don’t want to lean too heavily on your family or bridal party
✨ You have the budget and want to fully relax + enjoy your day
✨ You care about the flow, timing, and personal details being executed just right
That said — if you’re super laid-back, happy to go with the flow, and your venue is highly involved, you might not need both.
🔑 The key is knowing what support you’ll have, what’s missing, and how much you want to be in charge on the day.
No right or wrong — just what’s right for you. 🤍
