The most exclusive address at Monaco Grand Prix 2026 wasn’t on land. It floated.

On June 4, hosted the official opening party of the Louis Vuitton Grand Prix de Monaco 2026 aboard EXPLORA I — docked at Port Hercule, the heart of Monaco’s iconic harbour. The night opened with Europe’s largest-ever drone show: 3,050 drones, 10 minutes, choreographed to map Monaco’s iconic street circuit and F1’s future through 2035.

Indonesia just announced its own Orient Express. And KAI said it out loud.

On June 3, 2026, KAI Director I Gede Darmayusa told the House of Representatives: “You may have heard of the Orient Express in Switzerland, in Europe — we are trying to replicate it with Nusantara Explorer.” Launch date: July 1, 2026.

The route: Jakarta → Yogyakarta → Semarang → Banyuwangi. A full luxury travel package through the heart of Java, bundled with accommodations and curated experiences along one of the most scenic rail corridors in Southeast Asia. Pricing hasn’t been announced — only that it will be expensive, by design. This is a niche market play.

The existing Kereta Wisata Nusantara already has a VIP panoramic balcony, a private bedroom for two, and a luxury lounge. Nusantara Explorer is the next chapter.

Indonesia has the landscape. Indonesia has the route. The question is whether the ex*****on matches the ambition.

studio, an Indonesian graphic designer and illustrator, created both the hand-drawn title typography and the full poster illustration for Ariana Grande’s Petal lead single. Every letter drawn manually, one by one, inspired by the visual aesthetic of the 1950s and 1960s. The poster wasn’t just a digital asset — it was printed and displayed on walls in New York and California as part of the physical promotional rollout for the Petal era.

Global pop music operates on a production scale most people don’t fully see. The work gets used. The creators stay invisible — unless they choose to share it. .studio chose to share it.

This is one entry in a catalog of 2026 moments making the same argument. TDC72. Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia. Venice Biennale. Cannes. And now, walls in New York and California. Indonesian creative isn’t arriving at the global stage. It’s been there.

Indonesia sent its films to Cannes. Europe is bringing theirs back — to Indonesia. For free.

2026 opens June 4 and runs until June 14 across 8 Indonesian cities and 25 venues. 55 films from 28 European countries. 31 female directors. 9 debut filmmakers. Films that competed at Berlin, Cannes, and Venice — screening here at no cost. This is the 26th edition of Indonesia’s longest-running international film festival, running since 1990.

And Indonesia isn’t just watching. is on the jury this year. Three Indonesian short films premiere at EoS 2026. The Short Film Pitching Project received 367 submissions this year — an 86% increase from last year. This is what the two-way conversation between Indonesian and European cinema looks like up close.

What does batik have to do with Poland? 🇵🇱🇮🇩

More than you might think.
At the Poland National Day 2026 reception in Jakarta, commemorating the 235th anniversary of the Constitution of May 3, 1791, one of the evening’s most memorable highlights wasn’t a speech—it was a piece of batik.

As part of the Poland–Indonesia Friendship Batik Competition , 180 submissions from across Indonesia reimagined the connection between the two countries through traditional batik design. The winning work by was even worn by Ambassador Barbara Szymanowska during the reception, turning cultural collaboration into something guests could see firsthand.

Beyond diplomacy, the celebration reflected a shared appreciation for history, identity, and cultural exchange between Poland and Indonesia.

A reminder that sometimes, meaningful international connections are built not only through policy and dialogue, but also through art, tradition, and creativity.

Kartini spent her life writing letters, hoping the world would one day hear Indonesian women.

In 2026, her story was on a New York stage.

— an Indonesian student at NYU Tisch School of the Arts , one of the world’s most prestigious performing arts schools — created “Just Call Me Kartini, The Musical” as her final thesis project. A one-woman show. She wrote the script. She composed the music. She produced it. She performed it.

All of it.

Erika’s creative journey started in 2019 collaborating with on “Blue Jeans,” then her own EP “Miscellany” in 2021. But this — a full musical about Indonesia’s most iconic woman, built from scratch and staged at NYU — is something else entirely.

Kartini dreamed of a bigger world. Erika Prihadi took that dream to New York University. The dream didn’t just survive. It graduated from NYU Tisch.
