The UNESCO-listed Early Christian Necropolis of Sopianae preserves remarkable 4th-century burial chambers, painted tombs and the Early Christian Mausoleum beneath the city centre.

Meet Pécs’ medieval defender. 🏰

The Barbican — Barbakán in Hungarian is a 15th-century Gothic gate fortification and the only surviving barbican in Hungary.

Once part of the Episcopal Castle’s defence system, today it is one of the most interesting historical sights near the city centre.
