We’ve been keeping a little secret… 🤫

For the past half year, we’ve been quietly working on something close to our hearts: Curated Corners at NÁLAM.

To celebrate opening our doors for short-term stays, we wanted our guests to leave not just with memories — but with something they can hold onto. A small luxury. A piece of Budapest.

Just in time for the holidays, our collection is filled with gifts that slip perfectly into a stocking or fit beautifully under the tree. 🎁

This launch marks the beginning of new collaborations — this year and well into next — and we can’t wait to show you what we’ve been designing.

As a foreigner who has fallen in love with Hungary, I’ve learned to appreciate the quiet beauty of local craftsmanship.

studio is a multidisciplinary brand based in Vienna, founded by Nina Nemes, creates sustainable fashion and handmade design objects. The focus is on the reuse and valorisation of existing materials, which are transformed into new and long-lasting unique pieces in a creative upcycling process.

Today, on All Souls’ Day, we reconnected with a beautiful piece of the past. We were able to recover the tombstone of Dezső Jakab and his wife, Irén Tauszig — the visionary architects who created the home we now call NÁLAM. Built in 1911, this house has carried their spirit for over a century.

Beneath the vines on their tombstone, the words revealed:
“Ars longa, vita brevis, amor aeternus.”
— Art is long, life is short, love is eternal.

More than a hundred years later, their art still breathes, their love still lingers — and we’re grateful to share even a small part of their legacy.
