Meet Our Residents: Eglė Ambrasaitė
Eglė Ambrasaitė litván művész, független kurátor és kutató, aki Žeimiai-ben, Berlinben és New Yorkban él és dolgozik. Az Aikas Žado Egyesület alapító igazgatója, valamint az Aikas Žado Laboratory kurátora, amely egy kollektív, nonprofit, interdiszciplináris művészeti intézmény Žeimiai kastélyában.
Munkájában az anyagosság, a dekoloniális és több-mint-emberi perspektívák, az affektelmélet és a sötét ökológia szövődnek össze olyan kurátori megközelítésekben, amelyek alternatív jövők elképzelését és megélését nyitják meg. Kiállításokon, nyilvános programokon és közös kutatásokon keresztül olyan interdiszciplináris tereket hoz létre, ahol emberi, nem-emberi, mesterséges és élettelen szereplők találkoznak – gondoskodást hívva elő és újfajta kölcsönös függéseket teremtve.
Rezidenciája a Lithuanian Council for Culture támogatásával valósul meg.

🗣Szeptember 28-án az aqb Nestben tartja kurátori beszámolóját Eglė Ambrasaitė: Whispers of Matter címmel, ahol három kurátori utazáson keresztül mutatja be, hogyan gondolkodhatunk másként az anyagról és az anyagosságról – a kritikai fogyatékosságelmélettől a poszthumán nézőpontokon át egészen a perifériára sorolt anyagok történeteiig.

Eglė Ambrasaitė is a Lithuanian artist, independent curator, and researcher, living and working in Žeimiai, Berlin, and New York. She is the founding director of the Aikas Žado Association and curator of Aikas Žado Laboratory, a collectively-run, non-profit interdisciplinary art institution based in Žeimiai Manor House.
Her practice weaves materiality, decolonial and more-than-human perspectives, affect theory, and dark ecology into curatorial frameworks that imagine alternative futures. Through exhibitions, public programmes, and collaborative research, she creates interdisciplinary spaces where human, non-human, artificial, and inanimate agencies meet – inviting acts of care and forging forms of interdependence.
Her residency is supported by the Lithuanian Council for Culture.
