Throwback Sunday – Literally. 🥾
We spent our Sunday wandering among massive Lenin heads, revolutionary anthems, and some seriously dramatic overcoats. Yep – Memento Park it is.
If you’ve ever wondered what happens to giant communist statues after the regime changes – spoiler alert: they all get invited to live together just outside Budapest. It’s basically the weirdest, most fascinating roommate situation in history.
But here’s why it’s actually really cool:
🏛 It’s not just statues – it’s a time capsule. You’re walking through propaganda, power, and pop culture, all frozen in concrete.
🏛 The vibe is eerie, absurd, and oddly cinematic. (Think Wes Anderson meets Cold War nostalgia.)
🏛 And the best part? It doesn’t glorify or bash – it just shows. You get to decide how you feel about it.
Also, there’s a Trabant. You know we had to peek inside.
So if you're ever in Budapest and in the mood for something offbeat, bold, and very "what the heck am I looking at?", Memento Park is 100% worth the ride.
