Milokan Artist Residency and Workshop We are currently accepting proposals for 2022 artist residencies. Artists working in any medium are encouraged to apply.

We are a collective of artists living and working in Jacmel, Haiti guided by the virtue of konbit, an indigenous orientation that implies a life lived in collaboration and partnership to create communal abundance. Please email a brief proposal, examples of work and a short description of a community project or workshop you would like to lead while in residence. Suggested length of stay is one mont

h, however artists with longer or shorter availability are also encouraged to decide the length of stay appropriate for them. Because we operate in a konbit fashion, we ask that artists contribute financially what they are able to and for any additional funding we collaborate to raise the funds. The residency provides room and board in the expansive guest house, access to audiovisual equipment, studio space, musical instruments, performance space, and collaboration opportunities with world renowned artists. We are located about 100 KM south of Port-au-Prince, easily accessible by short flight in a small plane, or 2 hour bus ride. Jacmel is widely regarded as the artistic center of Haiti and is a beautiful, peaceful city.
