The concert event entitled “IN MEMORIAM BRANIMIR VUGDELIJA” was initiated a year after the untimely death (July 21, 2007) of Branimir Vugdelija, the lead singer of the bend Embrio. association believed it would be a nice gesture to pay the deserved tribute to such a musical talent and dear friend, so they decided to give a concert in Branimir’s honour. The idea of the memorial concert in honour of

Branimir has managed to withstand the years, keeping the memory of Branimir alive. The event immediately met with the approval of various performers and audience, and gained vast acclaim. For the greatest part, the concert included local performers, but also some regional bands. The intention of the organizers is to invite some of the bands that used to inspire Branimir to create his music to take part in the event in future. In the course of his life, Vugdelija used to be an exceptional talent in terms of vocal performance, but also as a multi-instrumentalist. The broader public remembers him as the frontman of Embrio, the band as a member of which he gained popularity among audience all around Croatia, and worldwide, lasting even to the present day. Branimir recorded two albums with the band, leaving the third unfinished and unreleased. We firmly believe Branimir would have been delighted by the fact that the bands that used to inspire him, such as The 69 Eyes and H.I.M., have heard his music, just as some bands he never had a chance to hear, but are widely popular these days: Eluveitie, Woods Of Ypres, etc. All of the mentioned had only words of praise for his music. All we can say is that Embrio would have certainly became world popular if Vugdelija were still alive. Rest in peace.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM THE ORGANIZERS || SLUŽBENO PRIOPĆENJE ORGANIZATORA

Dear visitors, friends, acquaintances, Embrio fans, and all who keep the memory of our Branimir alive – another IN MEMORIAM Branimir Vugdelija is behind us. Once again, we gathered to honor our Branimir, in the spirit of music and unity.

Despite what we believe was our strongest line-up so far, this year’s festival unfortunately did not meet expectations in terms of attendance (around 220 visitors). Sadly, this number is not enough to cover the costs of organization and production at the level we delivered this year. This raises the question of whether the festival can continue in the same or higher quality in the future. The main reason is most likely the large number of events happening on the same day within a small area.

Regardless of the circumstances, we gave our maximum and did our best to deliver the festival in the way it deserves.
A huge thank you to everyone who helped – especially our dear volunteers, sponsors, and donors.

Special thanks to the guest bands: SEVI, High Parasite and MACHA RAVEL – you were amazing, and even more wonderful as people.
Thanks to Ivan and Gordan for the print work, and to everyone we may have forgotten to mention, but who contributed in their own way.

We hope to see you again next year – in what format, time will tell.
