Through this amazing showcase, the audience was mesmerized by iconic Mongolian art forms, including the UNESCO-recognized and (throat singing). It was more than a show—it was a deep dive into the rich history, timeless philosophy, and resilient spirit of the Mongolian people. 🐎🔥

What a spectacular evening of cultural resonance at Shaw Auditorium! The Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra (HKCO), led by Mr. Rupert Woo Pak Tuen (Associate Conductor of HKCO and Resident Conductor of the Hong Kong Young Chinese Orchestra, and HKUST alumnus), alongside composer Chan Ming-chi, transported the audience along the Silk Road, celebrating the p**a as a vessel of storytelling and musical tradition. 🌟

From the rich melodies of the Five-string P**a, Nanyin P**a, Chikuzen Biwa, Saz, and more, the concert showcased the diversity and vivid colors of Silk Road cultures. Each movement revealed the expressive magic of plucked string instruments across Asia and beyond! 👍

香港中樂團 Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra 《絲語 · 琵琶》社區音樂會所演出的民族管弦樂套曲《絲語 ‧ 琵琶》，依據不同的琵琶類樂器，對應不同題材的表現形式及聲音處理特色去編寫 🎼 全曲分為七個樂章：第一樂章 - 前奏曲《長風破浪時》、第二樂章 - 文 ‧ 詩經《瓊瑤》及《玄鳥》、第三樂章 - 武《霸王卸甲》、第四樂章 - 間奏曲《一抹清風柔》、第五樂章 - 英《聽海之心》、第六樂章 - 傑《音詩共和》及第七樂章 - 後奏曲《揚帆濟滄海》。

音樂會中將由 #五弦琵琶、 #南音琵琶、 #筑前琵琶、 #薩茲（土耳其抱彈樂器），以及 #尺八、 #管、 #古琴 及 #嘟嘟克笛 等演奏，呈現不同的地域風情，展現絲路文化！✨


🎼 As the foremost plucked string instrument, P**a has been found across different regions that eloquently recount the histories and stories of their lands. The Chinese orchestral suite “Silken Notes of the P**a” performed by Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra in this Community Concert is structured in seven movements, highlighting the expressive qualities and tonal characteristics of the Five-string P**a, Nanyin P**a, Chikuzen Biwa, and the Saz of Türkiye, together with the Shakuhachi, Guan, Guqin and Duduk. These instruments will weave a colourful musical tapestry tracing back to the cultural heritage of the Silk Road. ✨

🎵 香港中樂團 Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra 即將再次呈獻藝術盛宴！

由香港中樂團副指揮兼香港青少年中樂團常任指揮、科大校友胡栢端 帶領，樂團將以民族管弦樂套曲《絲語‧ 琵琶》帶大家穿越絲路，展現多元地域風情與文化魅力 🐫

👨🏻‍🎓 #胡栢端 於2005年畢業於 #香港科技大學 ，取得計算機科學（資訊科技工程）工學士（榮譽）學位 💻 完成科大學業後，他進入 #香港演藝學院 深造，成為首位 #指揮碩士畢業生，並於「 #第二屆國際中樂指揮大賽」榮獲亞軍、香港優秀青年指揮獎及最受觀眾喜愛指揮獎三個獎項 🪄

現為香港中樂團副指揮及香港青少年中樂團常任指揮的他，多年來積極推動本地中樂發展，曾指揮香港中樂團2023年澳洲巡演、學校文化日音樂會、「津津有樂」音樂會、「我們的Cantopop」音樂會等多場重要演出，成就備受肯定 🌟

🎶 An Artistic Feast by the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra ( )!

Led by , Associate Conductor of HKCO and Resident Conductor of the Hong Kong Young Chinese Orchestra, and HKUST alumnus, the orchestra will present a concert focusing on the p**a, weaving a colorful musical tapestry that traces back to the cultural heritage of the Silk Road 🐫

👨🏻‍🎓 Rupert graduated in 2005 with a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Computer Science from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology ( ) 💻 Pursuing his passion for music, he furthered his studies at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts ( ), becoming its first Master in Conducting. Rupert also achieved remarkable recognition at the Second International Conducting Competition for Chinese Music, winning Second Prize, the Outstanding Young Conductor in Hong Kong Award and the Audience Award for the Most Popular Conductor. 🪄

As Associate Conductor of HKCO and Resident Conductor of the Hong Kong Young Chinese Orchestra, Rupert has been committed to advancing Chinese music in Hong Kong for years. He has conducted various HKCO concerts, including the 2023 Tour in Australia, ‘School Culture Day’ concert, ‘Tunes of Tianjin and Northern China’ concert, ‘Our Cantopop’ concert, and more 🌟

We are honored to invite Cindy Tai, founder of WELL WELL WELL (井井有條) and calligraphy and seal engraving instructor William Ho to host two culturally enriching Chinese handcraft workshops! ✨

🐦Under Cindy's guidance, participants handcrafted bamboo fans inspired by HKUST's mascot, "Red Birdie", offering a hands-on experience with traditional intangible heritage crafts while gaining deeper insights into their history. In William's seal engraving workshop, participants not only learned about the history of seal carving but also created their own seals from scratch, immersing themselves in the profound cultural essence of this ancient art. 🖌️

新學期開始，我們很榮幸邀請到「井井有條」創辦人Cindy Tai 和書法篆刻導師 William Ho分別為我們帶來兩場充滿文化韻味的傳統手作工作坊！✨

🐦在 Cindy 的指導下，學員們親手編織了一把以科大吉祥物「紅火火」為主題的竹扇，不僅體驗了傳統非遺工藝的魅力，還深入了解這門技藝背後的故事。而在 William 的篆刻工作坊中，大家在了解篆刻的歷史之餘，更能親自動手從零開始製作印章，在短短的時間裡，感受到篆刻藝術的深厚文化底蘊。🖌️
