One of our international special guests for Fumacon 2026 was

LuxSteez Cosplay is a Jamaican-born professional cosplayer and foamsmith, bringing multiple characters alive with her amazing skills in prop making and incredible cosplay looks. Some of her most famous cosplays are ‘Gachiakuta’s Semiu and ‘Arcane’s Sevika, both of which you might have seen her in during the FumaCon weekend!

Prior to the convention, our team was showing her the many flavours of Guyana with the help of tours, where she walked through Bourda Market to sample famous fruits such as mamee and guinep. Lux was also able to try some of our popular street food and snacks, such as potato ball, and dhal puri and mango sour as well. During her time here, Lux also explored our National Park to feed the manatees and enjoyed some amazing chicken curry in the city! Wilderness Explorers provided Lux and our guests with a complimentary Demerara River Sunset Tour.

During the FumaCon weekend, LuxSteez graced the stage with a spectacular performance showcasing her Sevika cosplay from the show ‘Arcane.’ In addition, our attendees also had the chance to interact with Lux at her booth displaying her work with some prints of her in amazingly crafted cosplays on sale.

LuxSteez also served as our Head Judge for our Individual Cosplay Competition. With her expertise & experience competing in various cosplay contests, Lux provided adequate critique, feedback and advice to our talented Guyanese cosplayers!

“Stand proud, Guyana. You are strong!”

This year’s FumaCon, our 4th edition, brought Guyana something, or someone, entirely new to our amazing nation: acclaimed anime and video game voice actor, Ray Chase, for his first visit ever to the Caribbean and South America!

Ray Chase, voice of characters like Tengen Uzui from Demon Slayer, Choso and Sukuna from Jujutsu Kaisen, Cyclops from X-Men ‘97, and many more, was absolutely showstopping and incredible at FumaCon 2026.

Prior to FumaCon, our team proudly showcased our food and culture to both Ray and his sister. Our goal was to show our country’s beauty, resilience, and hospitality on a scale that was both able to feel like a great adventure, while making Ray and his sister feel just like locals as they rode around Guyana. Everything from market excursions to simple, low-key limes around Georgetown, Seishonen Guyana was able to provide a perfectly curated experience that allowed Ray to feel right at home. Don’t worry, we didn’t forget to give him a taste of our country’s top-tier gastronomic experiences with local fruits, snacks, and foods we all enjoy!

With panels that allowed him to share his journey as a voice actor, and meet and greet sessions with our lovely attendees, we hope that Ray was able to inspire our Guyanese youths to chase their dreams as game developers, voice actors, and creatives within our nation.
