Some places carry their history so naturally, they never need to announce it. Therasia is one of them.

At this private villa overlooking the volcanic landscape, with its tiny 1860 church standing quietly above the sea, the wedding day unfolded the same way life has unfolded here for decades. Slowly. Without performance.

While the couple were getting ready, bread was baking live in the outdoor wood oven, Greek coffee was being served in small cups, and lunch was being prepared with the calm rhythm of a summer afternoon. Nothing was brought in to “feel traditional.” It already was.

And maybe that is the most luxurious thing of all.
When you arrive not expecting five star service, yet receive something far more memorable: genuine, heartwarming care. The kind that cannot be trained into hospitality manuals. The kind that comes naturally from people opening their home, their kitchen, and their way of life to you.

This is the Greece we always want our couples to experience.

Not only the view. Not only the aesthetics.
But the feeling of being welcomed into something real.

Some weddings are remembered for years not because of one big moment, but because of the feeling people leave with at the end of the night. Anna Maria & Brian’s reception at Lake Vouliagmeni had exactly that kind of atmosphere.

Powder blue details inspired by the colours of the Athenian Riviera, delicate baby’s breath arrangements, candlelight flickering across the tables and guests slowly settling into the kind of dinner where nobody checks the time.

We added small komboloi keepsakes on the tables as a quiet nod to Greece. One of those understated details that guests instantly connect with and end up taking home with them long after the wedding is over.

And while the adults enjoyed the celebration, the children had a whole little world of their own. Tiny houses, playful tents, painting stations and activities carefully designed for them, all supervised throughout the evening by specialised child minders. It allowed parents to truly relax and be present, knowing their children were not only cared for, but genuinely enjoying the experience too.

For us, this is what wedding planning is really about. Creating an atmosphere where every guest feels considered. Where people feel comfortable enough to laugh loudly, stay longer and fully live the evening rather than simply attend it.

We love the ‘chaos’ of Greek Orthodox weddings.
The children running ahead before the bride enters. The stefana slightly slipping. Rice being thrown everywhere. Family members crossing aisles for photos (constantly). Guests crying, laughing, fixing veils and somehow all speaking at once.

And in the middle of all this… a ceremony that feels deeply rooted, emotional and unapologetically Greek.

Anna Maria & Brian’s Athens Riviera ceremony was exactly that. Elegant but never stiff. Emotional without trying too hard.

These are the moments we love most. The imperfectly perfect ones that feel alive long after the day is over.

You decide how to live inside it. Because that’s where we come in.

When we met Stephanie & Gus they made it clear it was never about competing with the view.
It was about matching its energy.

A celebration built for movement, for connection, for unapologetic fun; tequila flowing, music rising, guests arriving from all over the world and instantly feeling part of it.

This part of the day… I always tell my brides not to underestimate it.

It’s quiet, it’s emotional, it’s a little chaotic in the best way and it’s the last time you’re just YOU before everything begins.

No audience. No expectations. Just your people.

A few things I’ve learned over the years:

• Start earlier than you think. Rushing changes the whole feeling of the morning
• Light matters more than space. Always choose the brighter room
• Your girls should feel like themselves. Comfort shows more than “perfect styling” ever will
• A well planned flow makes all the difference. When the morning is thoughtfully structured, everything feels effortless
• Leave space for the in-between moments. The laughs, the music, the little pauses
• And really… take it in. It’s one of the fastest parts of the day

Because this isn’t just getting ready.

It’s the moment it all becomes real.

And when it feels right here… everything that follows just flows.

You don’t need flowers to make a statement.

You need intention.

For this concept for we stripped everything back and rebuilt it using what truly defines the experience: the ingredients themselves.

Cauliflower became sculpture.
Artichokes became structure.
Lemons carried the light, the scent, the mood.

This wasn’t about decorating a table.
It was about designing a feeling you could taste.

From menu to mise en scène, every element spoke the same language.
Even the entertainment moved within it.

Because when everything aligns, guests don’t question it.

Most people will look at this and see a beautiful ceremony.

I see how it moves.

How guests arrive and naturally follow the curve without thinking.
How the eye lands on the couple, then drifts to the sea, and gently comes back again.
How the space holds everyone close, without feeling crowded or staged.

Nothing here is random.

Even the florals are doing quiet work. They soften the structure, break the symmetry just enough, and make the whole setting feel like it belongs there… not something placed on top of it.

Because a ceremony should never feel like a setup for photos.

It should feel like something unfolding, in real time.

That’s always the intention.

A three-day gathering with some of the most thoughtful minds in our Destination Wedding industry, designed to inspire, challenge, and reconnect us with what we do and why we do it.

Dreaming of Sorrento… and I’m still carrying the feeling.

What stayed with me most was not only the beauty, but the depth. The honesty in the conversations, the generosity in sharing, and that rare sense of alignment when you find yourself among people who see this work the same way you do. There was something deeply familiar in it all… the volcanic soul of Santorini meeting the volcanic elegance of Sorrento. Different places, same depth. Same intensity.

And then, full circle moments.
Seeing again after all these years, remembering where it all started back in 2010… and realizing how much we’ve both grown, personally and professionally.

To the speakers, thank you for your honesty, your openness, and for pushing us to think deeper.
To every supplier, every creative: what you created over these three days was not just beautiful, it was felt.

And to Bellevue Syrene, in its quiet off-season magic… you reminded me that true hospitality is never about excess, but about presence.

Not every destination wedding is about the destination.

Sometimes it’s about returning to something familiar.

This celebration on the Athens Riviera was exactly that. Our couple grew up in Canada but carried Greece with them in their memories; in family stories, summer visits, the light of the sea, and the colors of the landscape.

So when it came time to design their wedding, the intention wasn’t to recreate something formal.

It was to recreate a feeling.

The soft pinks and lavender tones were inspired by the wild summer flowers you find across the Greek countryside. The tables were dressed elegantly, allowing the sea, the breeze, and the evening light to become part of the setting.

Guests gathered overlooking the water as the sun slowly faded, surrounded by colour, conversation and the familiar warmth that only Greek celebrations seem to hold.

For couples who live abroad, returning to Greece for their wedding is often more than choosing a beautiful location.

It becomes a quiet way of honouring where their story began.
