The Beauty of Saying “I Do” Again!

There is something very different about designing an anniversary or a vow renewal. You’re no longer celebrating the beginning of a story, but everything that has happened since.

A large round table took center stage, bringing everyone together with no beginning and no end. Above it, another circle of light echoed the shape below; a quiet reference to continuity, to the years already shared and those still to come.

The ceremony beneath the trees was equally intimate, followed by dinner by the sea, hundreds of candles and a fire burning as the evening became night.

A vow renewal doesn’t need to recreate a wedding. In fact, we think it becomes much more interesting when it doesn’t.

And sometimes, even the shape of a table can tell that story.

A circle: No beginning + No end.

There is another side to Santorini that we wish more people came here to discover; the one that grows from its volcanic soil.

The tiny Santorini tomato, intensely sweet and salty, the xylagouro, white aubergines and round zucchini, alongside extraordinary indigenous grape varieties that have made Santorini one of Greece’s most distinctive w**e regions.

For our May event with Spicy Bites Catering, this was the Santorini we wanted to celebrate. Local produce, local flavour and a gastronomic heritage that belongs entirely to this island.

Because beyond the caldera and the sunsets, Santorini has a taste of its own and when you are planning a wedding here, it deserves a place at the table.

PLANNER’S PERSPECTIVE | Not every moment needs to be planned.

We spend months planning a wedding and making sure the day flows exactly as it should. But that doesn’t mean every moment needs to be planned.

For Dianna and Greg’s wedding in Santorini, there was time for ch*****ne, laughter, playing around with the parasols and simply enjoying being together.

A good timeline gives us the structure we need behind the scenes, while leaving enough space for everyone to actually enjoy the day.

Because very often, these are the moments that become some of the best photographs of the day. Not because we planned them, but because we allowed time for them to happen.

For us Greeks, the 15th of August is so much more than a date on our summer calendar. It is the heart of the Greek summer, when cities empty and everyone starts flocking back to their islands and villages, to family homes, grandparents, church bells, long tables and familiar faces.

Across Greece, villages come alive with panigyria, music, dancing, food and w**e, bringing together faith, tradition and celebration in a way that feels uniquely Greek.

It is a time for family, for coming home and, perhaps more than anything, for celebrating life in that very Greek way where summer, faith, family and joy all become part of the same story.

A little Athens Riviera romance, without trying too hard to look Greek.

For Krystyna & Jamie’s wedding at Island Athens Riviera, we wanted the table to feel connected to its surroundings without falling into the obvious blue-and-white interpretation of Greece.

So we allowed the palette to move.

The blue of the stationery doesn’t exactly match the flowers. The florals shift between lavender, soft pink, blue and green. Textured ivory plates bring another layer, while classic silverware and delicate glassware keep everything elegant.

Nothing perfectly matches yet everything belongs. And against the blue of the Athenian sea and the green of the coastline, the whole table feels completely at home.

Because good design isn’t about finding ten things in exactly the same shade. It’s about understanding how colour, texture and setting can work together without competing with one another.

Planner’s Perspective Vol 2

One of the details we pay the closest attention to is something most people never think about: the connection between a couple and the people behind the camera.

Let’s be real: couples aren’t models. They’re simply two people experiencing one of the most emotional days of their lives, and standing in front of a camera can feel surprisingly intimidating.

That is why choosing the right photography and cinematography team matters so much.

As planners, one of our most important roles is bringing together the right people. Technical talent is important, of course, but so are personality, energy, empathy and the ability to make a couple feel completely at ease.

When that trust exists, everything changes. The photographs become more natural, the films become more authentic, and what is captured is not simply how everything looked, but how it felt.

And when all of this unfolds against the backdrop of Santorini, with its soft light and a palette of lavender, blush, cream and white, the result is something truly timeless.

Planner’s Perspective

People often think of cocktail hour as simply the time between the ceremony and dinner.

We think of it rather differently.

For us, this is one of the most important moments of the entire celebration. Guests have relaxed, emotions are still running high, and everyone is eager to discover what comes next.

Rather than allowing that time to become empty space, we love transforming it into an experience of its own.

Over the years, that has meant welcoming guests with local charcuterie and cheeses, introducing them to local w**es through guided (but fun 🤩) tastings, inviting magicians to move effortlessly through the crowd (always a winner), creating intimate corners with tarot card readers, setting up perfume bars inspired by the destination, filling the air with live aca****la performances and commissioning live sketch artists to capture memories as they unfold.

Our goal is never simply to fill the time, but to ensure that every moment feels like part of a much larger story.

Every destination has its own language.

In Santorini, it’s the cliffs, the volcanic landscape, the endless blue and those sunsets that make everyone pause for a moment.

After celebrating a vibrant Hindu wedding the day before, Sarah & Viraj wanted their Western ceremony to tell a completely different story. Elegant, timeless and intentionally understated, allowing the island itself to become part of the design.

That’s what Unapologetically Greek means to us.

Not filling a space simply because you can, but creating celebrations that belong here. The caldera, the light and the landscape have always been Santorini’s greatest luxury. Our role is to bring them together in a way that feels effortless and deeply personal.

And then… the party began.

A room full of doctors somehow delivered one of the wildest dance floors we’ve seen in years (two days in a row!!). Incredible speeches, endless laughter, and a celebration that carried on long after the sun had disappeared beyond the Aegean.

Because in the end, it was never just about the view.

It was about everything that happened beneath it.
