𝐗𝐞𝐧𝐨 takes its name from what is still unknown: the neologism, the unusual, the yet-to-come. As a concept, it signals an openness toward what is strange, unfamiliar, and different, rather than a celebration of what is considered “natural” or already known. It embodies an attitude that embraces transformation, unfamiliar identities, new technologies, and emerging forms of social life, even when they initially appear alien or unsettling.
At the same time, the name serves as a memento of Albert Camus’s unique autobiographical connection to Sigri, linking the festival to a place where experiences of otherness, encounter, and discovery take on a distinctive cultural and personal resonance.

Το 𝐗𝐞𝐧𝐨 παίρνει το όνομά του από το έως τώρα άγνωστο, το νεολογισμό, το ασυνήθιστο, το επόμενο. Παραπέμπει σε μια ανοιχτότητα απέναντι σε ό,τι είναι ξένο, ανοίκειο και διαφορετικό, αντί να εξυμνεί ό,τι θεωρείται «φυσικό» ή ήδη γνωστό. Εκφράζει μια στάση που αγκαλιάζει τη μεταμόρφωση, τις μη οικείες ταυτότητες, τις νέες τεχνολογίες και τις αναδυόμενες μορφές κοινωνικής ζωής, ακόμη και όταν αυτές αρχικά μοιάζουν παράξενες ή ξένες.
Ταυτόχρονα, το όνομα λειτουργεί ως ένα memento της ιδιαίτερης αυτοβιογραφικής σχέσης του Albert Camus με το Σίγρι. Συνδέει το φεστιβάλ με ένα κοινό, αμήχανο τόπο συνάντησης και ανακάλυψης, με μία ξεχωριστή πολιτισμική και προσωπική διάσταση.
