Meghan gave us such a beautiful example of how wedding fashion can tell a story.

For her day, she chose several looks. A getting ready outfit, a ceremony dress, an Indian sari to honour her heritage and the culture she feels connected to, and a look for the party. And Meghan is a true fashion girl - a TikTok creator with a real eye for style - so naturally, every look was thoughtfully chosen.

Not every bride gives so much thought to her wedding looks, and that is completely fine. Some choose comfort first, some focus on budget, some wear a family dress, and some really enjoy building the wardrobe of the day look by look.

But when you think about it, there is a lot of sense in it.

What you wear while getting ready sets the tone for the morning.
Your ceremony dress carries one of the most important moments of the day.
A second look can be a beautiful way to express your roots, your story, if your ancestors are coming from a country where a bridal white dress was never a part of a story.
And if you know you will be dancing until the very end, a party outfit can make the evening feel much easier, especially if you don’t get used to wearing long dresses.

So if you’ve ever wondered why some brides choose multiple outfits, this is why. It can be simply about making space for every part of the celebration.

If you are just starting to plan your wedding and don’t know where to begin, write to us. We’ll help you bring it all together in a way that feels natural and true to you.

A wedding needs meaning you can see. Without rituals and atmosphere, it can easily feel like just another party. Weddings may follow a similar structure, but it’s the meaning in the details that makes each one unique.

That’s why decor matters so much. It helps express the purpose of the gathering, shape the feeling of the day, and make the celebration personal.

At the same time, planning and decoration are not the same job. You cannot manage a complex multi-day celebration and execute decor at the highest level all at once. As planners, we’re always happy to be part of the concept creation, but the decor itself should be brought to life by a professional team.

And honestly, this is something Crete needs more of. There is still a real shortage of professional wedding decorators on the island, especially considering the level and number of weddings taking place here. That’s why we’re always grateful for the chance to collaborate with talented decor teams from other locations who want to create in Crete, and for this one, a special thank you to
Because weddings deserve both - beautiful design you can see and excellent planning you can feel

When we opened Meg and Chad’s wedding gallery from their October celebration in Crete, we were completely overwhelmed, in the best way possible. So many beautiful photos, and honestly, no idea where to begin. This was truly one of those weddings where the photographers met their perfect muse , a bride who loves to be photographed. Meg genuinely enjoyed every moment.

So yes, we’ll probably be spamming your feed a little, because even it was an intimate wedding, these photos are just too good not to share. And where better to start than with their pre-wedding dinner session.

It took place at Periplus Restaurant, in the Old Harbour of Chania — a beautiful spot by the water, just far enough from the busy tourist crowds. Amazing food, a relaxed atmosphere, and the simplest details done so perfectly. Minimal styling, and guests who truly became the best decoration of the evening.

The traditional wedding cake? Often optional, and we understand couples who skip it! But for this celebration of Hannah and Donnell’s wedding, the dessert was the heart of the story. ✨

The groom’s mother, a pastry chef, designed an incredible, deeply personal cake—shaped by family tradition and filled with love. The sweetest detail? She transported the entire masterpiece all the way from London! 🇬🇧✈️

While we usually prioritize our amazing local vendors, at Crete Within Weddings, we believe that weddings are deeply personal and we never say no to couple’s ideas to bring a vendor on board.

Flexibility is non-negotiable for us. We embrace the extra coordination because, in the end, we’re not just planning events—we’re helping families tell their unique, unforgettable stories. We love to learn from every one we create.

Tell us: What is the most sentimental detail you’re planning for your wedding day?

“What is the weather like in Crete in October?”
This is one of the most common questions we receive from couples planning a destination wedding.

These photos are from Hannah & Donnell’s wedding, who tied the knot on October 17th last year at Sea View Venue — and yes, a legal ceremony with an incredible sea view is possible there.

The day itself was beautifully warm, with soft autumn light and a gentle sea breeze. As evening arrived, the air became cooler — the planning team and venue staff were already wearing jackets.
But the guests? Not at all.
They were dancing so much that they practically raised the temperature at the venue… and probably across the whole Chania district as well 😅

Hannah and Donnell’s friends had music in their blood, the dance floor (and the bar) was never empty, and the energy of the celebration kept the night warm long after sunset.

October in Crete can bring some of the most romantic light and atmosphere of the season — perfect for couples who love the idea of a softer, more intimate Mediterranean wedding.
DM us if you are thinking of a fall wedding in Crete. We’d be happy to help you explore the possibilities.

Elin & Mike — story continues…

&

Details are everything. Since they hadn’t seen the villa, we carefully chose the perfect spots for the first look, ceremony, cocktails and dinner so everything would feel natural and practical. They wanted separate entrances for their walk down to the ceremony, and we found the most intimate spot for their vows.

Timing was precise: dinner was set just before sunset so the golden hour would bathe them during their first dance. Even for this small, intimate wedding the focus was on the arch, flowers, table styling and bar — all tailored to the couple’s taste and guided smoothly so they could simply enjoy the moment and that’s the invisible job of a wedding planner that we always speak about. But what a joy is it for us to see how it all worked out when we receive the pictures, walking through each step of the wedding over again.

Elin and Mike’s wedding vision was :

• Intimate micro-wedding
• Moss green & burgundy
• Asymmetrical floral compositions
• Vibrant atmosphere
• Fresh fruits from local producers

And we knew that would be the perfect match to make this vision come true.

Mike & Elin

So much grace, so much love, and so many beautiful details.

One of our couples who had never been to Crete before, yet chose it as their wedding destination and planned everything from afar. They hadn’t seen the venue, tasted the food, the drinks, or even the cake. They simply trusted the process, trusted our work, and trusted the feeling they had from our photos, messages, and website.

It is a big leap of faith to create such a meaningful day without ever visiting the place. We are endlessly grateful for the couples who do this again and again, and we truly love sharing these stories to help future couples feel confident about choosing Crete—even if they’ve never set foot here and choosing us knowing it will all be just as they have imagined and even more because of the feeling that ones get living through the moment that was just in their vision before.

After Mike and Elin’s wedding, the bride’s mum shared how nervous they’d been not knowing how everything would turn out… and how the final result exceeded every expectation. Words like these mean the world to us.

And the most beautiful part?

All of this trust turned into one of the most intimate, emotional, and detail-filled weddings—set in a villa they had never seen, yet suited them perfectly in every way.

More about that in the next post… ✨

As our wedding season slowly comes to an end, our work continues with planning for the 2026 season. We still have plenty of stories to share.

Brad and Amelia ☀️

A beautiful couple who chose to celebrate their wedding day with close friends at a villa they selected for their celebration. The couple’s main focus was a party and fun. The evening ends by a massive jump into the pool!

A side note for our future couples: if you choose a villa on your own, without your wedding planner’s involvement, please make sure you inform the villa owners about your celebration. Check if they allow such events and what their fee might be.

It is always preferable to arrange all planning and organisation of vendors and venues through your wedding planner. When things are booked separately and later handed over to us, it can create points of negotiation and extra arrangements. These are often unnecessary and can bring additional fees—costs you would probably prefer to save and spend on something else.

Villas are a very popular choice for weddings. They allow you to share the space with most of your guests, making the celebration cosier and more intimate. You can choose vendors that suit your taste and budget, and create a setting that reflects your personal style. A villa also saves on transfers between locations and lets you continue celebrating after hours in your own private set-up, while keeping noise considerations in mind.

Souvlaki at the Arion farm! The olive orchard and the sounds of Cretan Lyra brought to this prewedding event a character!

The story of Tessa and Keaton continues and as always, we share not only their journey but also important insights for our future couples, with a little extra behind-the-scenes.

Our job as planners was to fit 4 days of celebrations into a relatively modest budget.

The truth is, working with a limited budget is always more challenging — it takes creativity, negotiating with vendors who are used to luxury prices, and constantly finding compromises.

It’s hard to say exactly how many emails were exchanged back and forth — negotiating, adjusting, rethinking — but out of sheer curiosity, we counted. The final number? Around 700 emails!

When people say that a wedding planner saves you money, what they really mean is that we save you time. While we are chasing down vendors, requesting quotes, and negotiating discounts, you can stay focused on your life — with your own wedding excitement and emotions, yes, but without getting lost in endless planning and stressful back-and-forths.

And perhaps most importantly — being locals with over 15 years of experience, we know our market, we know our vendors, and we can always offer creative alternatives for any budget but above the minimal one, we speak more about budget in one of our blog post in our website. Link below the post.

Just remember, we don’t do just packages. Every couple we work with gets a completely personalised approach. As we love to say: never save on your wedding planner — because what you gain is the wedding you’ve dreamt about with less stress and more joy 🤍

Tessa and Keaton were both born and raised in the U.S., but Tessa had always dreamed of saying her sacred “I do” in her ancestral homeland — Greece.

One day, while scrolling through Instagram, she stumbled upon a breathtaking photo of a bride with a mountain view and instantly fell in love. That image happened to be from one of our styled photoshoots at Aravanes — and that’s how Tessa found out about CWW and wanted us to plan not only her full wedding but all the celebrations around as our tastes aligned .

Their wedding journey unfolded over a year and a half, with both of their Greek families deeply involved in the planning. Keaton’s relatives consistently live in Crete, but most of the guests traveled from across the U.S. Tessa wanted them to experience Greece in the most authentic way possible, so that everyone would leave with a little piece of it in their hearts.

The celebration turned into a true Cretan experience — a seaside taverna party, a traditional night with souvlaki and dancing in the olive grove , a sunset yacht trip, dinners at Rethymno’s trendiest restaurants — and, of course, the wedding day itself, right in the heart of Crete, the place she saw and envisioned for her wedding Aravanes.

Loads of love to Tessa & Family!

To be continued…
