As we shared in our previous post, Malini & Brian’s wedding was no ordinary one.⁠

The weather gifted us with truly challenging circumstances—⁠the morning started off with strong, strong winds, and we had to set up an entirely new space for dinner, bar, and DJ, not to mention decor. And of course, one thing follows another, as everything is so interconnected.⁠

While the weather continued to shift. The wind carried thick Sahara dust and sand, turning the sky a yellow-orange hue, with occasional raindrops that felt more like clay—dust and water—rather than the usual rain we know.⁠

And between all the decision-making and adjustments, we also had to find the right time window to hold the main part: the ceremony.⁠

In the end, it was delayed by an hour, but we managed to hold the ceremony exactly where the couple had originally chosen—miraculously saved from the wind. The sky gods gave us just the right amount of time.⁠

As the ceremony was a mix of traditions, with certain steps and parts to be followed, the sky was brewing and stirring: thunder and lightning, thunder and lightning—while we just hoped the sky would let them finish.

And just like in the most romantic stories, the moment they said “I do,” the sky opened with rain—⁠as if it had been holding back just for that moment.⁠

A truly magical experience, a reminder of greater forces at play.⁠

The key ingredient of how easygoing Malini and Brian were, without a minute of worry—knowing deep down that their wedding would run just right, no matter what nature had in store.⁠

The guests were also relaxed and understanding, simply trusting the process. They knew that even if something didn’t go exactly to plan, we would make the best adjustments to keep everything running smoothly. First Look – A Precious Pause Before the Celebration

This season, first look moments have become incredibly popular – and it’s easy to understand why.

Many of our couples aren’t holding a legal ceremony on the wedding day; they’ve already married in their home country or will do so afterward. So the wedding day itself becomes a symbolic celebration – and the first look becomes a truly intimate moment.

It’s a rare, quiet space of time for just the two of you. No rush, no audience – just presence. You get to walk together, see each other fully dressed as bride and groom for the first time, hug, cry, laugh… and take it all in.

When couples wait until the ceremony to see each other, the moment is often fleeting – nerves are high, timelines are tight, and the sacredness of that “first look” can feel lost in the whirlwind.

Malini and Brian shared a beautiful first look, with two cultures meeting in perfect harmony – Irish and Indian (Kerala) traditions blending into one unique story. For us, it’s beyond special to be invited into such moments – to witness, learn, and celebrate cultures through the most personal lens: your love.

On their day it also happened to be a sandstorm from Sahara when a red dust blows over the island accompanied by strong winds and hot temperatures, followed by rain. It’s most surely not something that couples expect from sunny Crete but it is definitely unique. Nothing could spoil the mood of Malini and Brian, therefore at whichever stage of the wedding day these two were, the weather gave them beautiful opportunities to celebrate it as it was planned. TBC

After months of careful planning, the peak moment finally arrives — the preparations, the ceremony, the couple and family photos… and then comes the real fun! Dinner, heartfelt speeches, and the party — a time to let go and fully enjoy the celebration with all your favorite people who’ve gathered from near and far just for you.

Often, it’s the earlier parts of the day that make it into the posts, while the party stays behind the scenes. But this part matters just as much — and planning your evening entertainment well can truly elevate the whole experience.

Alexandra and Jonathan’s stunning wedding has already caught the eye of several wedding blogs — and with good reason. More features are on the way, and we couldn’t be more thrilled.

We truly love reminiscing about this day; the beauty captured in the photos perfectly reflects how magical it was in real life. It was such a joy to plan every detail and then witness it all come to life so seamlessly.

Apart from our love of sharing our couple wedding stories with you, we also try to give as much needed information for you to know if you choose your destination wedding in Crete.

This post comes with a bit of disappointing news for this year’s wedding season and all those that wanted to have a symbolic wedding by a church.

Alexandra & Daniel

were our last couple of the season last year to exchange vows in a symbolic ceremony beside one of Crete’s most charming churches — a truly magical moment filled with emotion, love, and glowing light.

As of this year, symbolic weddings by churches are no longer permitted unless it is an official Orthodox wedding or held at a privately owned chapel. While this brings changes, we’re always doing our best to find the most meaningful alternatives for our couples. And also hoping this decision might be changed in the future.

So for now, let’s simply soak in the beauty of this special day: the rich burgundy florals, the intimate details, the peaceful charm of the chapel, and the radiant joy of two souls declaring their love.

The venue was just as perfectly suited to Danielle and Jordan’s wedding magic. Nestled in the western part of Crete, it offered breathtaking views of the White mountains—a stunning backdrop for their special day. A scenic walk along a Cypress trees-lined path led guests to a charming white church, where the ceremony took place. is thoughtfully designed, with a dedicated space for pre-wedding drinks and a lush open lawn that transformed into a vibrant dance floor under the stars.
