We are Daphne Aslanidi and Harry Diakomichalis, two people descending from Nisyros, therefore able to trace its unique flow of energy! We love the island so much that we want to spread and share this love to people who have a flair for the original and the eternal!
Daphne: I grew up in a near by island, in Leros, but Nisyros always held a special place in my heart, I visit it every summer since my childhood. It is the place where I can wind down and find my piece of mind. Here my first romance took place and this is the place I daydream for my own wedding! Every time I set foot on the island, its healing effect seems like a small miracle. Our familhy house, Villa Daphne carries not only my memories but the family history, which you are able to sneak peak through the photos and the paintings decorating the walls, and through the objects decorating the rest of the house!
I got my university degree at NTUA as a Civil Engineer, which equipped me with a mindset appropriate to solve complex problems. My love for photography and decoration lead me to Germany in order to pursue a post graduate degree in Αrchitectural Lighting Design and Design Management. I gained not only knowledge about proper lighting design and efficient management of a business, but also the chance to communicate and cooperate with people with a diverse cultural background. It was an open-minding experience that led to the expansion of my aesthetics and the study of arts!
Harry: I was born and raised on this island and I have lived here most of my life. I know personally each and every one of the locals and can recognize even the smallest corner of the island. I am actively catering to retain the culture, the tradition and the principles that made the island thrive. I studied Management at The University of the Aegean and I currently run my family’s travel agency, coming to contact with travel agencies and travelers from all over the world.
I also plan tours of the island and initiate guests to the local secret treasures. I visualized ANAEMA, the alternative agro touristic activities of the island and I constantly consider new, innovative ways to highlight the beauty and the futures of Nisyros. Our philosophy is to treat anyone as a guest and not just as a tourist or client. A visitor who will not be lost in the anonymous crowd of package tourists during his holidays, but he will feel part of a large group, with people next to him to deal with him at every stage and every moment.
When visitors depart, they take with them experiences and memories but leave having gained strong personal bonds with the locals, who will await for their next visit to Nisyros.
We have the ideas and the know how and we will be more than delighted to plan the happiest day of your life!
