The Krevati ("the bed") is a traditional Greek pre-wedding custom where loved ones gather to bless the couple's future home and marital life.

Who makes it: Unmarried female friends and family members dress the bed using heirloom linens passed down from grandma to mother to the new bride (and if the groom disapproves of how it looks, they have to tear it down and start over! Fyi, they usually do it 3 times!).

What they throw:

Rice: For deep, strong roots in the marriage.

Coins & Money: For wealth and prosperity.

Sugared Almonds: For a sweet life together.

Babies & Young Kids: Rolled across the bed for fertility, health, and a home full of laughter.

Did you have your Krevati?? 🤍✨
