The innovative tactile tablet will be presented during the 7th edition of the EGCA Women’s Champions League, a major European goalball tournament hosted by RGC Hansa and sanctioned by the European Goalball Club Association (EGCA).

On 18–19 August 2026, athletes and goalball experts will participate in testing sessions to evaluate the tablet’s functionality and provide valuable feedback for its further development.

The official presentation of the Tablet for Goalball will take place on 19 August at 21:00, during the tournament’s Technical Meeting.

This important milestone brings the project closer to its goal: using innovative and accessible technology to enhance the goalball experience for people with visual impairments.

Technical Meeting at the Technical University of Crete – 6 July 2026

On 6 July 2026, the Tablet4GoalBall project partners met at the Technical University of Crete to review the latest developments of the innovative tactile tablet designed to enhance accessibility for visually impaired athletes and spectators.

The meeting focused on evaluating the first prototype, discussing technical improvements, and defining the next development steps based on user feedback and practical testing.

A hands-on testing session was carried out with the participation of Erkki Miinala, President of the European Goalball Association (EGA), representatives of the Old Power Goalball Club, and representatives of Alma Sports Development. Their expertise and practical experience provided valuable recommendations for improving the tablet's tactile interface, usability, and overall user experience.

The feedback collected during the meeting will play a key role in refining the technology ahead of the upcoming pilot activities in Germany and Greece.
