Megla’s life from a very young age.

Η μόδα μπήκε από πολύ νωρίς στη ζωή της Ματίνας Μέγκλα, όταν σε ηλικία 5 χρονών η γιαγιά της, μία από τις πιο γνωστές μοδίστρες της πόλης της, της πήρε την πρώτη της κόκκινη ραπτομηχανή και τη δίδαξε πώ

ς σχεδιάζουν και ράβουν ρούχα. Έτσι ποτίστηκε η αγάπη της για τα υφάσματα και τη δημιουργία, η οποία εξελίχθηκε με σειρά σπουδών σε Ελλάδα και Αγγλία. Το 2011 κέρδισε το πρώτο βραβείο κοινού για τον "Καλύτερο Νέο Σχεδιαστή" στο διαγωνισμό του Αγγλικού Lookk και το 2012 κλήθηκε να παρουσιάσει την προσωπική της κολεξιόν στο Nolcha Fashion Week της Νέας Υόρκης. Έκτοτε είναι ενεργή σχεδιάστρια ρούχων, ενδυματολόγος και σκηνογράφος. Διατηρεί το προσωπικό της ατελιέ στο Κολωνάκι, όπου σχεδιάζει και φτιάχνει χειροποίητα νυφικά και βραδινά φορέματα. At the age of 5 her grandmother, who was one of the most notable tailors in her hometown, bought her, her first red swing machine and taught her how to design and sew which ingrained in her the desire to work and manipulate fabrics. Megla always possessed a deep affinity for the arts and while completing her masters at UCA she freelanced as a designer. In her first steps in Fashion, she found shelter under the mentoring of Konstantinos Tsigaros one of the greatest Greek Fashion Designers; however it was her love for fashion that propelled her to create clothes not only for herself but also wedding dresses and handmade jewellery. From this Megla M. was birthed, which posed as a bridge between her love for both the avant-garde characteristics of fashion and the boundless imaginative illustration of the theatrical world. In 2011 Megla participated in the highly publicized “100 Best New Fashion Designers” competition as organized by Lookk (an online UK Fashion magazine). There she presented her Fall/Winter 2012 collection and out of hundreds of talented contestants she was awarded 1st place. Megla is continuously challenging her creativity by way of the female figure and she has already have made impressive strides towards solidifying a remarkable place in the eclectic global industry of fashion.
