DEFINITION started on a warm summer Sunday in 2010, when three electronic music enthusiasts and party lovers came together at a small venue in London's vibrant Brick Lane district, a little bar called Exit Bar. What started as a simple gathering of friends united by a passion for forward-thinking electronic music quickly evolved into something much bigger. In those early days, events would attract just 30 to 40 people, creating an intimate atmosphere where music, connection, and community took centre stage.
As word spread throughout London's underground music scene, a loyal following began to form. The growing support led to opportunities that exceeded all expectations, including being invited to host events at the iconic Brickhouse, a venue where influential artists such as Jamie Jones were performing. Building on this momentum, Definition secured a monthly residency at the legendary The Magic Roundabout, where attendance regularly ranged between 700 and 1,000 people, firmly establishing the brand as a respected fixture within the city's electronic music landscape.
Over the years, Definition expanded far beyond club nights. From unforgettable boat parties cruising along city waterways, to warehouse gatherings, rooftop celebrations under open skies, and festival appearances across Europe, the journey has been driven by a shared love of quality music and memorable experiences. Each event has brought together diverse communities of music lovers, creating countless moments that continue to define the spirit of the brand.
Reaching our 16th anniversary is an emotional milestone and a testament to everyone who has been part of this journey—artists, friends, supporters, collaborators, and dancers who have shared the dancefloor with us over the years. What began as a small gathering among friends has grown into a lasting community connected by music, creativity, and a passion for discovering new sounds.
