Sonic Portals feat. molyneaux w/ Amoralite Collective, interviewed in Berlin.

A Greek artist based in Berlin, she began in classical piano, guitar, and voice before forming her sound in the underground electronic scene of Athens. That shift shaped her debut album Sorrow as well as her later work with Agatha (Intimacy without obsession) and led her across Greece and Europe, where she collaborated on stage with dancers and performance artists, exploring the relationship between movement and sound.

In this interview, Molyneaux speak about the power of collaboration in music production and performance, the role and place of women as artists or producers in the scene, her decision to move from Athens to Berlin and chase her dreams around music, as well as, she introduces us to her new album, what inspired her, and what new is she bringing to the mix that constitutes her distinctive musical identity.

The “fall” here is not an end, it is something ongoing. A recurring pattern.
A long red felt carpet unfolds on the ground, like a ritual path, a route of power, but also of
sacrifice. Upon it, headless human figures appear in free fall. Without center, without
direction. They are falling, or perhaps they have already fallen.
Each figure seems to repeat the same gesture. A frozen motion, marking a state of collective
instability. The red color evokes blood, royalty, and alarm. This fall is not only physical; it is
social and existential. A continuous slipping from a place we may have never truly known,
toward an end that never quite arrives, but always persists.

Οι μηχανές , και τα μέρη που τις συνθέτουν, απελευθερωμένα από την αρχική
λειτουργία και τον σκοπό τους, μπορούν να υπάρξουν ξανά σε ένα εικαστικό
περιβάλλον , επιλέγοντας αυτή τη φορά από μόνες τους τον λόγο της ύπαρξης τους
και τον ρόλο τους.

Το αποτέλεσμα είναι ο ελεύθερος μετασχηματισμός τους από «ψυχρές» σε
«θερμές» φόρμες . Η κατάργηση της αναπαράστασης είναι αναπόφευκτη , όπως
τελικά και η ανάπτυξη μιας ιδιότυπης δυναμικής και έντασης που καταφέρνει να
ενσωματώσει την αισθητική χωρίς να την υπηρετεί .

Οι μηχανές, ως έργα πλέον , φορτίζονται κυριολεκτικά εκ νέου και καλούνται να
ζήσουν χρησιμοποιώντας νέα κυκλώματα και ροές , εκπέμποντας τη δική τους ,
αυτούσια και μοναδική θερμότητα , που μόνο τώρα μπορούν να αφήσουν να
απελευθερωθεί στον μετά την συμβατική λειτουργία τους χώρο και χρόνο.

- Sacred Bodies

In the hallowed spaces where silence speaks, Sacred Bodies is as a bold interrogation of the long-standing narratives surrounding women and their bodies within the context of the Church. This photographic series captures the raw and unadorned form of a woman within the church—a space that has both sanctified and, paradoxically, marginalized the female body.

It is an exploration of the feminine divine, using the medium of the Támata—traditional votive offerings that embody prayers and thanksgivings. Through these evocative images, the series challenges the traditional dichotomies of sacred and profane, purity and impurity, that have historically governed women’s roles and representations in religious life. The exclusion of women from sacred rites during menstruation, and their barred entry from the sanctum of churches, mirrors broader societal attempts to control and define female sexuality and agency.

The integration of Tamata, with its roots in Eastern Orthodox Christian practices, underscores the tension between the sacred intentions of votive offerings and the sacredness of the female body itself. Each image, encapsulated within a Tama, acts as a prayer for liberation, a silent protest against the constraints imposed by traditional religious dogma.

“In a world which really is topsy-turvy, the true is a moment of the false.” Guy Louis Debord
Luna Meta Park is a large-scale installation consisting of four sculptures, three signs and a projection.

In the exhibition, the central sign of the transitional park created by Sphinxes, to addresses the transformation of the natural, the transition to the digital, and the metastases of the human.

The illuminated sign, standing three meters high at the entrance of the exhibition, signals the audience’s transition into a new realm. In a place of deterritorialization of bodies and their transposition into digital territorialities.
