Sunday morning in Athens during ChoroTaksim was dedicated to discovering the city beyond dance — through history, culture, and shared heritage.
Our group explored the historic center of Athens guided by Theoni Kotsiopoulou who generously shared her deep knowledge of local traditions and the fascinating ethnographic layers of the city.
A special highlight was our visit to the Museum of Modern Greek Culture, housed in the historic Tzistarakis Mosque. The space itself stands as a powerful symbol of the many cultural influences that have shaped Athens over the centuries.
With thoughtful contributions from Serkan Tutar we reflected on the beautiful cultural parallels between Greece and Turkey — from music and dance to everyday customs that continue to connect our peoples.
