After my senior high exams, my brother was working as a security man at Kasapa Head Office in Accra. One day, he called me and said, “Come to Accra and hustle for your education.”
I respect my siblings a lot, so I went. When I arrived, My brother used to sleep in the security kiosk at Kasapa Head Office, so I couldn’t stay with him there. Because of his work and for security reasons, he asked me to stay with his friend instead. He said I should remain focused, pray and work hard. God will take us far.
So, I stayed with one of his friends, Fiifi. God bless him. At that time, life was tough, we were living in a kiosk at Kumoji, Accra.
I still remember his words to me: “Peter, we will become great. Don’t give up. We will make mama and papa proud.”
Those words kept me going. My brother has truly been a pillar in my life.
Months later, my brother enrolled in Bible school. I was so happy because I knew this was his calling. Even Jesus spent time in the temple learning. My brother needed knowledge and wisdom to fulfill his kingdom assignment and mandate.
While he studied at the Bible school, Anakagzo, I was working as a labourer at a construction site. Sometimes I cry, because it was a difficult work. I was doing hard labour. From my small savings, I used to buy him gari, sugar, clothes, towels, and other basic needs since he wasn’t working. Sometimes I sent him some money for his upkeep. It was little but cherished.
Deep in my heart, I knew he would become great all over the world and I wanted to support that journey. I love him and I thank God is my brother. No jealousy, no competition just love and strength.
Later, when I came to Kumasi for university, he has already started his ministry. With just 7 church members. I helped him buy some plastic chairs to expand it. He was not having someone to play the drums so I devoted myself to doing that for him.
Every Sunday, I traveled from KNUST to Pankrono to play drums and support the ministry. I was glad to help because I saw his dedication and faithfulness. With time, the tables turned—he was now supporting me with money for my upkeep.
I took this picture in 2017 believing that one day, my brother would be great.
Today, by God’s grace, he has build a huge church, he owns lands, has six church branches, a spinter for the church, and runs both a mineral water and bakery business, creating jobs for many.
He has sponsored many through school, given financial help to others, and supported many young people to learn skills and trades.
When one shines, the whole family shines. Unity brings greatness.
If your brother or sister starts something, support them. Don’t envy your siblings—stand together.
So I encourage you: stand with your siblings, believe in their dreams, and help them grow. One day, you will all share in the harvest together.
Follow his ministry for undiluted wisdom and the pure word of God.
Blessed Baptish Church, Cocoano Atimatim.
