COPIED #
I’m very disappointed in “Ho Artistes”!!! Our Big Brothers Edem and Edem Agbana pulled a lot of resources to host a Music & Creative Arts Seminar with us yesterday in Ho, Volta’s Capital and we had the LEAST or ZERO ATTENDANCE by Ho Artistes — when I mean “Ho Artistes” I am referring to Artistes who are Ho Citizens or were born and bred here in Ho — and this is NOT the first time this is happening! I can count about (at least) 5 past seminars I’ve done myself (3) and together with my Big Brothers Edem, Jonilar, Kwamivi/Eventic GH, Edy Wonda/Volta Media Excellence Awards - VMEA all numbering about 8 seminars across Volta Region and each time this happens it’s the least of attendance that comes from Ho Artistes/Creatives. Veteran Musician, Israel Maweta, (who was even having an engagement at a funeral) had to find a way to cut off his set and come through the and stayed till we closed. Big & Buzzing Artistes like Agbeshie, Jah Phinga, Keeny Ice, Chief One who have/still enjoying good streams/gigs who should flex their muscles rather showed up and stayed through till we finished the Programme. But our YOUNG Ho Artistes didn’t care and I don’t know what REASONABLE excuse they will have to give because (again) this is not the first time this dullard attitude is exhibited. NONE of us who are as present for the Meeting got paid or resourced for anything — from The Show Hosts to Artistes present to Videographers to Graphic Designers and Media Crooners present yesterday, it was purely SACRIFICIAL on the part of all of us because we wanted to reignite Volta Creative Arts Industry cos’ some of us have been tired of the SELF ENTITLEMENTS that we didn’t or are not helping our own people but here’s the case we created that platform SEVERALLY and those who should matter didn’t even care. My godfathers Stanley Bongo and Stanley Adjei are my key witnesses to all of these things. Our Music Legend was on stage till almost 3:00am yesterday to bless S3FA’s Homecoming Concert yesterday, I personally got back home around 5:00am but we all showed up to host/attend the event. Many other young artistes from elsewhere who even performed on the show and were supposed to leave town made sacrifices to attend the seminar but “our own people”, NO show! Senior Volta Media Goons like Sizzla Dellings Nyasorgbor, Bright Ellis, Paul Mensah-Anku, Jerome Bigx can attest to this because they are privy to this attitude. Artistes & Creatives from as far as Aflao, Keta, Hohoe, Kpando, Tsito, Sogakofe, Akatsi, Tadzewu, Accra, Dzodze etc were some of the earliest attendees. Kpese Boy, one of the new buzzing talents had to beg to have a separate meeting with me last night that run into as late as 11:00pm and I made time for it because he valued what it meant for him. If we dey push Southern Volta or Northern Volta Artistes our Ho Artistes (majority) go dey vex and write things on social media and making whim comments on the streets to disrespect the very people supporting them. I’m making this public post for posterity sake. None of us are gods or demigods of this — THE MUSIC & CREATIVE ARTS BUSINESS IS BIGGER THAN ALL OF US — we are just making our impact in our own small way while we can, while we are here. Senior Colleagues like Jay Foley, Giovani Elolo Caleb and King Lagazee are willing to help in every way they can (and they are already putting on some of our people), but how can they be inspired to do more for us when we are putting up this stale attitude? How can we attract investors for Ho Creatives? When I began ’s roll out I heard so many funny comments as to why I didn’t pick a Ho artiste — who makes such silly comments in these times? From day one I don’t care where you come from Pluto, Mars, Hong Kong, North Korea, Jamaica, Belize or India…once you’re good and we have a connect to work and I’m available I get on board. Bosses — Kwasi Tay, Mrr Adjomah, Richard Yinkah, Selorm Ocloo, Christopher Deha, Selorm Ameza, Alexander Tei Kofi Kumoji I’m tagging you all and putting this here for future reference — later when somebody dey make noise say the system no dey support them, kindly question them how involved they are/have been for their own projects/benefits. Nobody for come blame anybody again later say we no dey support. This year, some of us will NOT take disrespect from anyone and we will only support serious minded people who are putting in the (hard/smart) work. Some of us had almost ZERO support from the system, we had to grow our own careers/brands to be where we are because we understand that nobody owes us anything but ourselves. A lot more I want to write but I’ve done a lengthy one already. I will come back again when I need to. For now let me pause here. Apologies for the rather long note. God bless us all, and God will continue to help and bless those who help themselves!!!✊🏾🇬đź‡âśŠđźŹľ
