In Harlem on Thursday, August 14, 2025, a historic moment unfolded for The Taste of Afrika as His Royal Majesty Buipe Wura Abdulai Jinapor II, Paramount Chief of the Buipe Traditional Area and Vice President of the National House of Chiefs, together with Mr. Tengol Kplemani, CEO of The Taste of Afrika, were both honored with the prestigious Key to Harlem. The presentation, made by the Harlem Tourism Board during the “A City Within a City” Cultural Tourism Summit at the Renaissance New York Harlem Hotel, recognizes the outstanding work of The Taste of Afrika in promoting culture and strengthening global cultural connections.

Royal Visit Launches Bold Africa–Diaspora Tourism Initiative

Ghana will take the spotlight in Harlem this Thursday, August 14, 2025, as His Royal Majesty Buipe Wura Abdulai Jinapor II, Paramount Chief of the Buipe Traditional Area and Vice President of the National House of Chiefs, leads a landmark cultural tourism announcement at the inaugural “A City Within a City” Cultural Tourism Summit at the Renaissance New York Harlem Hotel. This historic moment has been made possible by The Taste of Afrika Ltd, organisers of the Cultural Oneness Festival, through their strategic partnership with the Harlem Tourism Board.

The announcement will unveil the Harlem–Northern Ghana Partnership, aimed at boosting cultural exchange, tourism, and economic opportunities between Ghana and the African diaspora. This global spotlight comes ahead of the Cultural Oneness Festival, set for December 10–13, 2025, in Northern Ghana.
