Every. Drop. Counts.

In the last seven days we collected 122 million litres.

In the last seven days you used 83 million litres.

That’s an overall boost of 39 million litres, and our first increase in storage levels since February. Now that's welcome news, but we can't get complacent.

Why? Because our overall storage levels are currently around 4.5% below the 10-year average. That might not sound like much, but it’s actually a fortnight’s water use and it’s this deficit we need to pay attention to.

So, we’re asking you to take on a water saving mindset: ask yourself, “do I need to water the garden”, “do I need to wash the car” or even, “do I need to leave the tap running when I’m brushing my teeth.”

Your actions will make an overall difference to the usage number and all we are asking for at this stage is voluntary reductions as we head into our traditionally drier season.

🚧 Liberation Day Road Closures & Travel Advice

As we gear up for a full day of celebrations in St Peter Port, please be aware that road closures and parking suspensions have begun.

🛑 What to expect:
- Road closures and parking restrictions in key areas from today until Sunday 11 May
- Rolling road closures on Liberation Day for the Cavalcade, starting from 1pm, with significant disruption likely along the Cavalcade route
- The whole seafront will be pedestrianised on Liberation Day, from the Weighbridge to slaughterhouse roundabout including Castle Pier

🚶‍♀️🚲🚌 Top travel tips:
- Use active travel – walk, cycle, or take the bus if you can
- Drivers can take advantage of the Park & Ride service from the top of the Val des Terres to Havelet on 8 May, as parking will be suspended at Crown Pier, The Albany, and North Beach
- Use the Park & Ride and Park & Stride provisions at key locations around Town on 9 May
- If you are driving, allow extra time and check the latest updates before heading out
- Avoid driving along the Cavalcade route on 9 May to prevent delays
