Today, Adam shares the story behind The Woodland Adventure Company — what inspired it, and why it differs from a traditional Forest School.

It’s a place where childhood and imagination are celebrated; Where mythical creatures still roam, dragons might be hiding beneath your feet, potions bubble away beneath the trees, and every adventure has the potential to become a lifelong memory. 🐉🍄🧪✨

At its heart, this has always been about creating a space where children can reconnect with nature, embrace curiosity and lose themselves in stories, wonder and wild adventure.

🌿✨ The Art of Noticing ✨🌿

Half term may be over, but the woods certainly aren’t slowing down. 🌲🍃

As we return to a busy schedule of school visits and woodland birthday adventures before the summer holidays, we’re reminding ourselves not to rush past the magic unfolding around us.

The seasons are quietly shifting. Spring is beginning to give way to summer. ☀️🌿

The woodland is bursting with life — fresh green leaves dancing in the canopy, birdsong filling the air, and rhododendrons glowing in spectacular colour. 🌸🦋🐝

Sometimes the most wonderful thing we can do is simply pause and notice.

Notice the changing colours.
Notice the scent of the woods after rain.
Notice the bees busy at work.
Notice how the sunlight filters through the canopy.
Notice the tiny details that tell us the seasons are turning. 🍄✨

Because when we teach children to notice the natural world, we help them build a connection that can last a lifetime. 💚🌲

🌲🍃 A little reminder to pause… 🍃🌲

Half term can be wonderful, magical… and also wonderfully chaotic at times 😅✨

So here’s your reminder to take a moment for yourself today.
Step outside, look up at the trees, listen to the birdsong, feel the breeze and allow nature to gently quiet the noise for a while. 🌿

Sometimes we don’t realise how much we need these small moments of stillness until we finally stop long enough to breathe them in. 🍃✨

Nature has a remarkable way of calming busy minds — for grown-ups and little adventurers alike. 🌲💛

What an amazing weekend! We had such a magical time at this years WizardFest. It made a real change for us to venture out of the woodland and into a very busy and very warm York city centre!

Thankyou to all the families who visited us, those from York and much further afield - it was great to meet you all and share such a special weekend with you.

It was also really great to be with our neighbours in Parliament Street Party Octopus FACE PAINT YORK lovely chats and time shared.

Thank you to Outside the Box Media and The Story Of You for such great media coverage and photos throughout.

Finally, thank you to Wizard Walk of York for such an incredible effort to bring this all together and for having us along, it's been a blast!

✨🪄 What a magical few days it has been at WizardFest so far… 🪄✨

We’ve absolutely loved meeting so many wonderful witches and wizards whilst creating magical wands together in the heart of York 🌿🔮

Tomorrow — Bank Holiday Monday — is our final day at the festival and we cannot wait to welcome even more magical faces for one last day of wand making fun 🧙🏻‍♂️✨

With another warm sunny day ahead, don’t forget your sun hats, suncream and water bottles ☀️🧢💧
