This week we celebrated Earth Day! 🌎
It felt only right to talk about the upcoming sustainable wedding fair this weekend - really excited for the second year of this event!
The idea for this fair came from my own business, which isn’t a perfect eco business but I strive to do my bit to lower my impact on the planet!
A few things I do as part of my business…
🌿Recycled packaging and reusing where I can
🌿Using recycled paper for business cards and posters
🌿Only using natural coloured flowers
🌿No floral foam
🌿Reducing waste by using broken flowers for wreath making and confetti
🌿No chemicals or pesticides for flower growing

Ultimately my business is inspired by the nature that surrounds us, so I feel it’s only right for me to respect the home of nature, and I truly think that even the smallest action can help our beautiful planet!
The sustainable wedding fair isn’t about having the perfect eco wedding it’s about thinking what changes could be made to your special day, whether that’s using only local suppliers, in season flowers or hiring some of your wedding outfits!

Happy Global Recycling Day! 🌎 🌿♥️🌺
The environment and our planet is something I’m truly passionate about in my home life… so it was something I really wanted to reflect in my dried flower creations and in my business as a whole. It’s not always easy but I truly believe every little action helps our planet - for us and for future generations!
Here’s a few things I take into consideration….

* Recycled business cards
* Reused packaging - (this includes bubble wrap - I believe if it’s already been made then let’s keep reusing it as much as possible - I always encourage my customers to reuse or recycle if they can)
* Recycled boxes
* Using natural coloured flowers
* Reducing waste by using broken flowers for wreath making and confetti
* No floral foam
* This year I will focus even more on growing more of my own flowers in my own garden

I’d love to do even more… it’s always something I’m thinking about!

Happy International Women's Day! A day of global celebration of the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women! It's a day to recognise our resilience, strength, and unwavering contributions to society.
Beyond celebration, it's also a vital call to action for the many challenges we face as women all around the world. I don’t pretend to know everything, I know I can be more educated on so many of these challenges but what I know is I’m so grateful to be a woman and be supported by so many amazing women around me. Women who have shaped me, inspired me, fuelled me, helped me, appreciated me and loved me.
Let's work towards a world where every woman and girl can reach her full potential!

Things to love about February…

More spring flowers appearing!
Along with the snowdrops and crocuses, the daffodils are also well on their way! I even saw some in flower along the bar walls the other day.

Beautiful bird song!
My gardening friend is in fine voice and it’s lovely to have him by my side while I’m garden prepping for the season ahead.

Slowly and surely there’s more daylight….
Starting to notice just that extra bit of light on an evening, only a little bit but I’ll take it!!

It’s still cosy season!
Even though I’m very much ready for more spring signs, I’m still embracing putting on that warm pair of socks, pouring a favourite cup of tea and putting on a comfort show!
