One of the most unique locations we’ve worked in recently.

Nestled beneath one of York’s most iconic landmarks, this 14 x 20m sailcloth tent was installed for an exclusive event, creating a striking event space while respecting the heritage of the site around it.

Here are some stunning images captured by the team during installation, with the sidewalls rolled up, before the ballast covers were fitted. Taken during a welcome evening of sunshine amidst an otherwise rain-soaked week in May, they perfectly showcase this remarkable setting beneath the ruins of St Mary’s Abbey in

Beautiful? Absolutely.

Straightforward? Not quite.

Historic sites like this require careful planning, particularly when it comes to anchorage. With no option for traditional ground stakes, we worked closely with our ballast supplier to deliver and position 18 concrete ballast blocks across the gardens, allowing us to safely rig the structure while protecting this remarkable location.

As a York-grown business, there’s always something special about delivering projects in our own city, and we’re incredibly proud of what the team achieved here.

Rain or shine, the party goes on ✨

Last week we installed our gorgeous 10 x 15m “JJ” stretch tent for Maria’s garden party.

A lovely technical build, it created a sheltered outdoor space that still felt organic and connected to the garden around it.

Rigged across two levels and anchored directly from the walls of the house to make the most of the space available, this is a perfect example of how adaptable stretch tents can be 👌

And with the weather doing a bit of everything that day (hail, sun, the lot!)… it proved exactly why a stretch tent is the perfect “just in case” addition for outdoor entertaining ☀️🌧️

The first “Big’Un” of the year with our friends over at Pontefract Castle. A lovely 15 x 20 stretch tent in flex canvas, with three sides pinned down for acoustic shelter for the venue’s lovely season of events ahead.
