ONE WEDDING. TWO LOOKS. Why have one bridal look when you can have two? 🤍

And that second look doesn’t necessarily mean a completely different dress.

It might be removing an overskirt to reveal a sleeker silhouette, swapping a veil for something a little more playful, adding a touch of sparkle. Or changing into something entirely different when it’s time to hit the dance floor.

Over the years I’ve witnessed brides completely transform their look during the course of the wedding, while others make the smallest of changes that somehow create a surprisingly different feel.

As with so many wedding decisions you'll make, there really are no rules. Your second look can be as subtle or as spectacular as you wish it to be.

There are some weddings, and some couples, who stay with you long after the wedding day itself 🤍

When K&J first contacted me, they were living in Bermuda but planning an English winter wedding back in the UK. With thousands of miles between them and their wedding, having someone based here who they could trust to take care of the planning was incredibly important.

Through Full Wedding Planning, we worked together on every element of their wedding, with many weekend Zoom calls along the way, from finding the right wedding professionals and navigating the practicalities of planning from overseas to bringing all those considered details together for the day itself.

Kate later described me as “pragmatic, organised, but also so personable” and said having someone here to think of the things they hadn't considered and put them at ease over those they were worried about made the whole experience feel seamless.

Perhaps my favourite part of their review came after the wedding, when they described being able to enjoy every minute of their day without the stress or chaos of worrying about everything happening behind the scenes.

And really, that's exactly how it should be.

While K&J enjoyed every moment, I was quietly taking care of everything else, from the church, venue and suppliers to the practicalities of the following morning, including supplier collections, returning suits, florals, leftover cake, stationery and gifts.

Years later, we still keep in touch via social media and it's lovely to see their lives unfolding back in Bermuda, including the recent arrival of their little boy 🩵. Kate and I also share a love of Pilates, although her love of the reformer seems to be far greater than mine!

One of the unexpected pleasures of wedding planning is that sometimes the relationship doesn't simply end when the wedding does 🤍

Perhaps it’s a church in a quintessential English village followed by a marquee at home. An iconic venue surrounded by beautiful gardens.

Or how about an elegant London celebration with the city quite literally on your doorstep.

One of the many wonderful things about planning your wedding in England is the sheer variety of settings available. From historic churches, private family homes and beautiful country estates to magnificent gardens and some of London’s most iconic venues, each can provide the backdrop to a wedding that feels entirely your own.

If you're planning an English wedding from overseas, however, choosing the right setting can feel rather different when you’re thousands of miles away. Knowing where to begin, which venues are worth exploring and how the practicalities will work alongside everything you want your wedding to be is where experienced guidance here in the UK can make all the difference.

What guests remember years later is the atmosphere, the feeling, the laughter and the way your wedding reflected the two of you so perfectly.

The most memorable weddings aren't created by following a formula 🤍

They're created through the choices that feel completely right for the two people at the heart of them. And sometimes it's the details that might mean very little to anyone else that say the most about who you are.

For N&B, personality could be found everywhere. From individually illustrated guests and their very own Wedding Post, to a tiny four-legged addition to the wedding cake and thoughtful ways of remembering those who couldn't be there.

Some details made people smile, others undoubtedly prompted a tear, but together they made the wedding feel unmistakably N&B.

Because personalising your wedding isn't about adding things simply for the sake of it, nor does every decision need to follow the latest wedding trend. It's about choosing the things that mean something to you and allowing those choices to quietly tell your guests a little more about the two of you.

When couples imagine their wedding day, they often picture the moments they'll remember forever 🤍

Seeing each other for the very first time. Walking down the aisle. Stealing a few quiet moments together whilst everyone else is celebrating around you. Learning your first dance together and finally stepping onto the dance floor as husband and wife.

What they rarely imagine is how they want the months leading up to that day to feel.

Calm enough to enjoy every decision without second-guessing yourselves. Exciting enough that planning becomes something you genuinely look forward to. Organised enough that every detail is quietly moving forward behind the scenes, leaving you free to savour every milestone along the way.

For me, that's what thoughtful wedding planning has always been about. Not making decisions on behalf of my couples, but creating the structure, guidance and reassurance that allows them to make those decisions with confidence, knowing every detail is being carefully considered from beginning to end.

There comes a moment in almost every engagement when the excitement is joined by a hundred questions 🤍

Where do we begin?

How do we know we're choosing the right venue, the right wedding professionals, the right approach for us?
